Duncan Becomes Spurs' All-Time Leading Scorer

Nov 20, 2010 9:49 AM

Spurs forward Tim Duncan became the team's all-time leading scorer on Friday night in a victory over the Jazz.

"I'm just happy for him," Spurs coach George Popovich said of Duncan, who now has 20,797, seven more than David Robinson scored in 14 NBA seasons. "You know he is the driving force behind our championships and for him to have the record now with games played and points is appropriate."

Duncan also became San Antonio's career leader in games played with 988 -- one more than Robinson.

"I'm going to stick it to him a little bit," Duncan said of Robinson, his former teammate. "He started my career with me. It's been a long career so far. It's just great."

There have been reports that Tony Parker's new four-year, $50M contract with the Spurs contains a trade kicker.

According to ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher, the contract has no such kicker attached to it.

That will allow San Antonio flexibility with Parker going forward and other teams will at the very least be able to make offers.
