The Minnesota Timberwolves have acquired Shelden Williams and guard Bobby Brown from Sacramento for Rashad McCants and veteran Calvin Booth, the Sacramento Bee is reporting.
The deal is currently pending league approval.
Trade talks between the Bulls and Wolves in regards to Kirk Hinrich have fallen apart, sources from both sides tell ESPN.
The Bulls weren't happy with the offering from Minnesota and believe they will be able to receive a better value for him over the summer.
Reports on Wednesday have suggested trade discussions between the Wolves and Bulls in talks regarding Kirk Hinrich being sent to Minnesota for a combination of Jason Collins, Rashad McCants, Brian Cardinal and possibly one of their extra first round picks.
When asked about the prospects that the Wolves will make a trade by the deadline, Kevin McHale told Jerry Zgoda, ?Not great, probably not. But who knows.?
The Bulls and Timberwolves are discussing a trade that would send Kirk Hinrich for the expiring salary of Jason Collins and possibly Brian Cardinal.
Hinrich is due $9.5 million next season, $9 million in 10-11 and $8 million in 11-12.
This trade would represent a salary dump for Chicago.
The Chicago Bulls are still trying to come up with ways to land All-Star Amare Stoudemire from Phoenix, Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo! Sports is reporting.
Citing a Western Conference executive, the latest proposal involves Minnesota, and would include Kirk Hinrich moving to the Wolves.
Phoenix would receive Tyrus Thomas, whom they covet, along with the expiring contracts of both Drew Gooden and Jason Collins.
Phoenix still are believed to be leaning towards keeping Stoudemire despite the latest efforts.
The Kings have been negotiating with the Timberwolves on a deal that could land them guard Rashard McCants, according to league sources.
Sacramento is reportedly interested in sending guard Quincy Douby and forward Mikki Moore to Minnesota for McCants.
David West of the New Orleans Hornets has been suspended one game without pay for striking Mike Miller of the Minnesota Timberwolves in the head, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations.
The incident, in which West was assessed a Flagrant Foul Penalty Two, occurred with 1:53 remaining in the second period of the Hornets 101-97 home victory over the Timberwolves at New Orleans Arena.
West will serve his suspension tonight when the Hornets visit the Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum.
The Timberwolves will be without forward Al Jefferson for the rest of the 2008-09 season after he tore the ACL in his right knee on Sunday night.
"We'll miss Al in every aspect, from his personality to his play to his presence to everything else," coach Kevin McHale said. "He's such a good kid. Your heart goes out to the kid."
An MRI performed Monday morning discovered the extent of the damage, and he will likely have surgery in the next seven to 10 days.
"Of course we're all a little upset and a little down," forward Ryan Gomes said. "Our guy, our captain, our superstar, is going to be missing for the remainder of our season. Of course our spirits are down."
Al Jefferson injured his right knee Sunday night late in the fourth quarter against the New Orleans Hornets.
"I just came down wrong on it. I felt it pop," Jefferson said. "I don't want to think about it until I get my X-ray tomorrow."
Jefferson, the key piece in the Kevin Garnett trade, leads the team in scoring (23.1 ppg), rebounding (10.9 rpg) and blocks (1.69 bpg).
The Timberwolves lost the game 101-97 despite 25 points and 14 boards from Jefferson.
