Dec 28, 2017 8:58 AM

Jeff Teague will undergo an MRI on his left knee.

Teague was injured when Gary Harris rolled over Teague's planted left leg in a scrum for the ball.

Tyus Jones will fill in for Teague if he's out for any extended time.

"As always, it's whatever the team needs me to do,'' Jones said Wednesday night. "I'm hoping Jeff is all right. You never want to see anyone go out with an injury. But it's the next man up. I'm ready to help this team in any way.''

Damian Lillard Targeted With Slurs Leaving Minnesota's Arena

Dec 19, 2017 2:29 PM

A pair of fans shouted anti-gay slurs at Damian Lillard while walking to the Blazers' bus leaving Minnesota's Target Center.

"I don't bother nobody," Lillard told ESPN. "They were straight disrespectful."

Cellphone video captured an irritated Lillard approaching the hecklers, asking, "Which one of you all said that?"

A woman in the area pointed out one of the individuals, and that person apologized.

Sources at the scene say no action was taken against the fans.

Jimmy Butler: KAT, Wiggins Can Be As Great As They Want On Both Ends Of Floor

Dec 19, 2017 12:34 PM

Jimmy Butler spoke about Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins following Minnesota's narrow win on Monday over the Blazers.

"They can be as great as they want to be on both ends of the floor if they buy into it," said Butler. "But they gotta play hard. You can't take too many possessions off in this league. They got so many talented guys on the other team. But I think night-in and night-out you want to show that you're the best. You gotta go up against the best. I think in order to say that you're the best, you gotta whoop their ass every night."

Butler is in his first season with the Wolves and has been trying to bring a higher level of intensity to their defense. Towns and Wiggins have the physical tools to be good defensive players but have been inconsistent.

Kevin Garnett Still Holds Grudge Against Glen Taylor

Dec 16, 2017 10:13 AM

Even though Kevin Garnett finished his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves, he and Glen Taylor parted on bad terms.

Garnett had interest in joining the Wolves in an ownership capacity but that deal fell through. Garnett feels promises were broken by Taylor.

“I don’t want to be partners with Glen [Taylor], and I wouldn’t want to be partners with Glen in Minnesota,” Garnett told Awful Announcing recently. “I would love to be part of a group that buys him out and kind of removes him and go forward.”

Garnett is currently consulting with a few teams and also featuring on TNT.

"You know what? I’m more with individuals versus the teams," said Garnett to Vice Sports. "I’ve gotta admit that. I’ve gotta say that Embiid, Karl-Anthony Towns, Jokic, Porzingis, Damian Lillard, Curry, Durant, I’m enjoying the young bucks, watching young Ingram get better and watching little L. Ball figure it out, you know what I’m saying? I’m checking it all out. I like individuals, not so much on the organizations. Obviously I’m gonna be with Minnesota and the players. Not so much upstairs. I don’t really deal with Minnesota’s upstairs. They suck. But Boston, all day. You know I’m a C ‘till I die. I always root for Brooklyn. But other than that I don’t really get into too many of the upstairs. I’m more watching the guys and watching their progression.

"But I love the competition. I love how the big is coming back. For a while the point guard position had it dominated for like four, five years. Now we have some promising bigs come into the game, starting to change the game a little bit."

The Charlotte Hornets attempted to engage the Chicago Bulls last spring on a trade for Jimmy Butler.

Shabazz Muhammad Expected $20M Per Season In Free Agency

Dec 14, 2017 12:03 PM

Shabazz Muhammad turned down a four-year, $40 million contract extension from the Minnesota Timberwolves before the 16-17 season, according to Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune.

According to sources, Muhammad saw the spending of the 2016 offseason with the cap increasing and believed he would earn as much as $20 million per season as a free agent.

Muhammad's market was far softer than he expected and he was forced to choose between one-year offers between Minnesota and the Los Angeles Lakers. Muhammad re-signed with the Wolves for $1.58 million with a player option in Year 2.

Muhammad was previously represented by Rob Pelinka and now his agent is Rich Paul.

Raptors, Wizards, Wolves, Bucks Interested In Trading For DeAndre Jordan

Dec 1, 2017 6:05 PM

The Toronto Raptors, Washington Wizards, Minnesota Timberwolves and Milwaukee Bucks have reportedly shown the most interest in trading for DeAndre Jordan.

The Clippers have interest in John Henson, Malcolm Brogdon and Khris Middleton in their trade talks with the Bucks. The Clippers want at least two of those three Bucks in any trade for Jordan.

Jordan will be a free agent in the offseason and is currently operating without an agent. The Clippers are widely expected to fall out of playoff contention following the injury to Blake Griffin.
