Walker Stuck In Minnesota?

Mar 24, 2008 4:28 PM

Antoine Walker is being paid a lot of money to simply sit on the bench for the Timberwolves this season, but the team doesn't plan on buying out his contract, according to the Star Tribune.

Walker was campaigning for a buyout just a few weeks ago, but Minnesota denied the request. It appears as though the Wolves won't buy him out for the 2008-09 season either.

Telfair: I'd Love N.Y. Gig

Mar 23, 2008 6:40 AM

Timberwolves' guard Sebastian Telfair, who is the cousin of current Knick point guard Stephon Marbury, has said that, like Marbury, it has been his life long dream to be the point guard of the New York Knicks, the New York Post is reporting.

"I'm sure that would be great," Telfair said. "Me being from New York, watching the Knicks the majority of my life. I think it would be definitely exciting."

"A lot of players, even players not from New York, playing in Madison Square Garden every night, it's a pretty significant thing. If I got the opportunity, I would definitely enjoy it."

Mar 21, 2008 4:31 PM

An NBA official confirmed on Thursday night that the league called Minnesota owner Glen Taylor and chastised him for his comments about Kevin Garnett, according to the Boston Globe.

Taylor claimed that Garnett "tanked it" during the last five games of the 2006-07 season even though his teammates were still interested in "playing".

The Timberwolves owner was not fined.

Wolves' Owner: K.G. 'Tanked It'

Mar 18, 2008 4:35 PM

Responding to claims that his team tanked it down the stretch in recent years to improve draft position, Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor fired a barb at Kevin Garnett on Tuesday, as reported by Yahoo.com.

Taylor pointed out that Garnett, who was traded to the Celtics this offseason, took himself out of the lineup late last season and missed the last five games with a sore right quadriceps.

?It was more like, I?d say, K.G. tanked it,? Taylor told the Pioneer Press. ?I think the other guys still wanted to play, but (the loss of Garnett) sure changed the team and didn?t make us as (good).?

Buyout Unlikely For Minnesota's Walker

Mar 1, 2008 6:17 PM

It seems unlikely that the Minnesota Timberwolves and forward Antonie Walker are going to come to terms on a buyout before Saturday night's deadline, according to the Pioneer Press.

Walker rejected the team's first offer, which seems to have killed any chance of a deal.

"There was an offer made to Antoine, and they said they weren't comfortable with that, and that's kind of where it is," McHale said.
