Anthony Davis suffered a dislocated left index finger in his 30-point, 8-block performance in the New Orleans Pelicans' 100-89 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday.

Davis is not expected to miss any games due to the injury.

Davis said he dislocated his left index finger late in the fourth quarter, but Pelicans head trainer Jon Ishop was able to pop it back in place.

"I don't know if you ever dislocated or broke (a finger), but that ... hurt," Davis said. "But they popped it back in and taped it up."

The New Orleans Pelicans have waived Tyshawn Taylor.

Taylor was acquired this week in a trade with the Brooklyn Nets.

The New Orleans Pelicans have acquired Tyshawn Taylor and cash considerations from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for the draft rights to Edin Bavcic.

Taylor, a second round pick by the Nets in the 2012 NBA Draft, appeared in 29 games this season for the Nets and averaged 3.9 points, 1.6 assists and 0.5 steals in 11.7 minutes per game. The Kansas product holds career averages of 2.9 points, 0.9 assists and 0.4 steals in 61 career contests.

The New Orleans Pelicans are interested in trading for a big man, according to sources.

The Pelicans have lost Ryan Anderson and Jason Smith to long-term injuries.

The Brooklyn Nets have agreed in principle to acquire Marquis Teague from the Chicago Bulls for Tornike Shengelia, according to sources.

The Nets also have reached a deal to send Tyshawn Taylor and cash considerations to the New Orleans Pelicans, who will send Brooklyn a conditional second round draft pick.

Teague was the 29th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft after one season at Kentucky.

Shengelia and Taylor have spent parts of the last two seasons with the Nets' D-League affiliate.

Jason Smith will be out indefinitely with a right knee injury, the New Orleans Pelicans announced on Saturday.

An MRI revealed that Smith has suffered cartilage damage in his right knee.

Smith is averaging 9.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 31 games this season.

Ryan Anderson will miss at least two months due to the herniated disc he suffered on Jan. 3.

Anderson said he plans to rest for the next two months before having an MRI to check to see how the C-5 and C-6 in his neck are healing.

Anderson will opt for surgery at that point if the injury hasn't healed properly.

"Depending on how the healing goes, I will either get surgery if it's not healing properly," Anderson said. "Or if my body does the job -- I hope it does, which the doctors say there's a good chance it will -- then I'll get back to doing normal routine exercises and back on the court," Anderson said.

Anderson would undergo a procedure similar to the one performed on Peyton Manning.

The NBA admitted officials missed foul call late in the fourth quarter of the Dallas Mavericks' 110-107 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday at American Airlines Center.

"After reviewing postgame video, we have determined a foul should have been called on Dallas' Monta Ellis for illegal contact on the arms of New Orleans' Austin Rivers while Rivers was attempting a three-point field goal," Rod Thorn said in a statement. "Rivers should have been awarded three free throws with 0.6 left on the clock."

Jrue Holiday has been diagnosed with a stress fracture in his right tibia. He is out indefinitely.

In 34 games this season with the New Orleans Pelicans, Holiday is averaging 14.3 points, 7.9 assists and 4.2 rebounds in 33.6 minutes per game. The 6’4” guard holds career averages of 13.5 points, 6.0 assists and 3.6 rebounds in 332 games.

The New Orleans Pelicans are actively searching for a trade of Eric Gordon.

The Pelicans have made contact with several teams on Gordon and have devised three-team trade scenarios.

The Pelicans began seeking a trade of Gordon in the offseason following the acquisitions of Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans.

Gordon has been healthy this season, but his production hasn't matched the $30 million he is owed over the next two seasons.

“He has been healthy and he has played better,” one league executive told Sporting News. “But he is a still a long way from living up to what you have to pay him. His contract is still the big reason they are not able to do anything with him at this point.”
