Bradley Beal On Battle With Luka Doncic: 'It Was Just Hoops'

Oct 24, 2019 2:31 AM

Bradley Beal said there was no hard feelings between him and Luka Doncic following their chippy battle that lead to Beal's ejection in the fourth quarter.

The Mavs beat the Wizards 108-100, with Beal finishing with 19 points and Doncic scoring 34.

"It was just hoops. You could see when I got kicked out, he came up and was the first one to dap me, so he understood what it was. We weren't fighting. It was just basketball, trying to frustrate him. He was kicking our butts, so you've got to do something," said Beal following the game.

Doncic said that there was mutual respect between the two players.

"That was great. That's what basketball is about. You don't have no friends on the court. I respect him for doing that. Everybody's saying he's only a fancy player. No, he showed he's great on defense, too. He showed that there, so I respect it for him," added Doncic.

Wizards Offer Bradley Beal Three-Year, $111M Extension In Any Form He Wants

Oct 11, 2019 11:06 AM

The Washington Wizards continue to prefer signing Bradley Beal to a contract extension rather than entertain trade offers.

"Bradley Beal has two years left on his deal and the Wizards have not given up hope on signing him to an extension," said Adrian Wojnarowski on a podcast with Zach Lowe. "They have had a three-year, $111 million extension on the table for him to take in any form. Does he want two years? Three years? Any form he wants. They're waiting for him. They are nowhere near the idea of moving Bradley Beal. They want to continue to try to rebuild around him. Get John Wall back healthy."

Beal is widely considered the next potentially gettable player on the trade market.

"If he got on the market would bring back an absolute ransom because if you want to improve your team in a dramatic way, he'd be the guy. But Washington is not doing that. They still want to re-sign him."

Tommy Sheppard replaced Ernie Grunfeld running the Wizards this offseason.
