Toney Douglas has signed with the New Orleans Pelicans for the remainder of the season.

Douglas, 6-2, 185, appeared in three games for New Orleans, averaging 9.0 points, 4.0 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 22.0 minutes per game while signed to two 10-day contracts with the team. 

Prior to joining the Pelicans, Douglas played for the Jiangsu Dragons of the Chinese Basketball Association, appearing in 35 games while averaging 19.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.1 steals.

Eric Gordon did not want to give up on the New Orleans Pelicans' season by undergoing surgery for a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

Gordon envisions next season as his contract year, meaning he is planning to opt into his player option for 2015-16.

''When I came back, I didn't want to give up on this year because next year is a contract year for me,'' Gordon said. ''I definitely didn't want to give up on this team. I thought this was a special team and it's just good to see where we're at right now.''

Anthony Davis has been ruled out for a critical game on Thursday against the Phoenix Suns after rolling his left ankle in drills.

Davis stepped on the foot of Omer Asik before rolling his ankle.

The New Orleans Pelicans have had a better than expected record without Davis, who has been in the MVP conversation throughout the season.

Irving led Cleveland to a perfect 3-0 record this past week, averaging a team-high 37.3 points on .633 (38-60) shooting from the field, including .867 (13-15) from the three-point line, .885 (23-26) from the foul line, 4.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.3 steals in 38.7 minutes per game.  

Anthony Davis can agree upon a five-year "designated player" extension this offseason with the New Orleans Pelicans.

If signed this offseason, Davis would essentially get a six-year max deal with the big jump in pay beginning in 2016.

Davis is also eligible for the "fifth year 30 percent max criteria" that allows eligible players on rookie deals to get a four-year extension and make up to 30 percent of their team's cap if they reach a certain criteria.

Davis' representatives have not yet decided how to proceed with the Pelicans, two sources said over the weekend.

Anthony Davis became the first player to record at least 36 points, 14 rebounds, nine blocks and seven assists in an NBA game during the New Orleans Pelicans' 118-111 double-overtime loss to the Denver Nuggets.

Davis also became the second player in NBA history to score more than 30 points, grab more than 10 rebounds, block eight shots and record seven assists, which Hall of Famer David Robinson did twice.

"It's a tough loss, especially in the position we're in," Davis said. "We have to move on and get ready for our next game."

Williams has appeared in three games with the Pelicans, averaging 4.0 points, 1.0 assists and 1.0 rebounds in 11.0 minutes per game.

Williams, 6-5,180 has most recently played for the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA Development League. Appearing in 25 games for Santa Cruz, Williams has averaged 21.8 points, 7.6 assists and 4.5 rebounds in 36.8 minutes per game while being named a NBA D-League All-Star. Previously this season, Williams has signed 10-day contracts with Utah and Charlotte. Williams appeared in five games for Utah, averaging 3.6 points in 8.4 minutes per contest.
