Colangelo Thinks Highly Of Triano

Mar 31, 2009 4:36 PM

Raptors general manager Bryan Colangelo has been impressed by the job interim coach Jay Triano has done and he remains on the team's radar for the full-time gig.

"The message is the right message; the method of communicating is the right method," Colangelo said Monday. "I've been high on him the entire time."

The Raptors are 20-36 under Triano, but the organization is still encouraged.

"Jay's done a solid job; he was given a bad set of circumstances," Colangelo said.

Bulls Like Bosh Over Stoudemire?

Mar 31, 2009 4:16 PM

If the Bulls make a move for a big man this summer, they reportedly rate Chris Bosh over Amare Stoudemire.

Rumor around the league is that Chicago prefers Bosh's personality, and believes that he is a better teammate than Stoudemire.

At this point in the season, it appears more likely that the Raptors will shop Bosh, but changes could be coming for the Suns as well.

Warriors To Make Another Pitch For Bosh?

Mar 28, 2009 4:33 PM

The Raptors are unsure of whether or not they'll shop Chris Bosh this summer, but sources indicate that the Warriors are interested in the All-Star forward.

Golden State reportedly inquired about Bosh prior to the Feb. 19 trade deadline, but Toronto wasn't interested in making a major move.

If the Raptors do decide to scrap their current roster and move Bosh, the Bulls are expected to make a play as well.

Bosh Defends Character, Vows To Honor Commitments

Mar 25, 2009 9:32 AM

Raptors forward Chris Bosh came out in defense of his character on Tuesday and vowed to honor any commitments he has to his former girlfriend, the mother of his child.

Bosh refused to comment on any specifics of the lawsuit that Allison Mathis has filed, claiming Bosh abandoned her and their four-month old daughter.

"All I can say is that I'm going to take care of my responsibilities like I've been doing in the past and in the future and keep respecting everyone," Bosh told reporters. "I love my daughter, I love myself and I respect her mother and I'll leave it at that."

Lawsuit Demands Child Support From Bosh

Mar 24, 2009 9:59 AM

Allison Mathis is demanding child support from Raptors forward Chris Bosh, saying he paid for fertility drugs, then left her when she was pregnant.

The lawsuit claims Bosh broke up with Mathis when she was seven months pregnant, leaving her without medical care even as she fell ill.

Mathis, who is seeking child support and sole custody, alleges that in 2008 the former couple planned to get married.

According to the lawsuit, they made a consensual decision to have a child together and Bosh paid for a fertility drug to hasten the process.

Bosh is denying the claims.

Raptors Not Fans Of Green St. Patrick's Threads

Mar 16, 2009 9:47 AM

Several members of the Raptors expressed their displeasure with their St. Patrick's uniforms on Sunday after a win over the Pacers.

"I've already registered my complaint," Anthony Parker said.

In recent years the NBA has had a number of teams wear special-edition green, St. Patrick's gear in games leading up to March 17.

"Wackness," said Chris Bosh, specifically of the warm-up shirts that featured a shamrock logo, eerily similar of the Celtics' trademark.

Toronto's Patrick O'Bryant, who is half-Irish and played for the Celtics earlier this season, defended the threads.

"Everybody's saying it's the Celtics logo. It's just a clover, a symbol of Ireland," said O'Bryant. "It would be the same if they had Prehistoric Day and everybody in the NBA had a dinosaur on their jerseys."

Marion To Fetch Around $8M Annually?

Mar 14, 2009 6:44 PM

League insiders believe that Shawn Marion will be fortunate to earn a contract worth $8 million annually on the open market.

Marion, who will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, realizes that the current economic conditions aren't going to help drive up his value.

"We do talk about stuff like that, but is the NBA going to fold?" Marion said. "You see people in baseball and football signing these big-ass contracts and I'm pretty sure their attendance went down a little bit. Everyone is taking a hit, but at the same time it's not stopping people spending money."
