Executives Believe Chris Bosh Most Likely To Leave Heat If Big 3 Breaks Up

Jan 30, 2014 1:23 PM

Chad Ford is skeptical of whether the Big 3 of the Miami Heat will remain on the roster heading into the 14-15 season.

"Doubt it," wrote Ford about LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade all remaining with the Heat beyond the current season. "But I'm not sure it will be LeBron that leaves. From what I can gather talking to teams and agents around the league, it's Chris Bosh who is the most likely to leave. LeBron and Wade are so good, I think we all forget what a force Bosh can be. Lots of teams would give him the max and feature him in ways Miami can't. LeBron might leave, but I think the odds are in Miami's favor."

Bosh was previously the franchise player of the Toronto Raptors.

Brooks Finally Uses Small Lineup To Stop Losing Streak Against Heat

Jan 30, 2014 10:58 AM

Scott Brooks used a small lineup after the Oklahoma City Thunder fell behind 22-4 in the first six minutes of Wednesday's over the Miami Heat.

Brooks used Perry Jones III instead of Kendrick Perkins to match up better with the athleticism of the Heat.

“I thought to win this game that we had to make a decision to go with a smaller lineup,” Brooks explained. “It’s just this game. It’s not something that we have to do all the time.”

Brooks has often received criticism for not playing against matchups.

“It’s a better matchup, I guess,” Kevin Durant said. “Perry came in and did a great job of just giving us that length on defense and being aggressive on the offensive end…It’s going to be games where guys are going to play more minutes and games where guys are going to have to sacrifice a little bit. And that’s what we did. Guys sacrificed in that second half…and we got a good win.”

The Heat had won six straight games against the Thunder.

LeBron Hopes To Meet With Silver To Discuss Ways On Improving NBA

Jan 28, 2014 1:52 PM

LeBron James hopes to meet with Adam Silver as he assumes duties as NBA commissioner.

"Hopefully I can sit down with the commish and just throw out some ideas where I hope the league can be better," James said. "Hopefully he has some ideas for me."

Silver will take over for David Stern on Wednesday.

"It's not a major change but the game can always be bigger," James said. "There's a lot of people who love the game who can't watch the game so hopefully we can (expand it)."

James said he's gotten to know Silver a little bit in recent years.

"The opportunities I've had to be around him as he's been the assistant commish, he's been easy to talk to," James said. "He understands the business and someone who understands what the game means to everyone -- the whole pie. Best of luck to him, hopefully he can get 30 years in, too."

Wade Focused On Big Picture With Decision To Come Off Bench

Jan 27, 2014 12:39 PM

Dwyane Wade's health is the biggest question lingering for the Miami Heat as they attempt to stave off the Indiana Pacers and a strong Western Conference to win their third straight NBA championship.

Wade came off the bench for the first time in 483 games on Sunday.

"The reality of it is you got to wait and see," Wade said after scoring eight points in 23 minutes during a 113-101 victory over the Spurs. "I'm not going to make a bigger deal of it than it is and I'm going to act like it's nothing. …People could think what they want. I'm continuing to work to make sure I'm at my best when I can be."

Wade has missed 12 games this season due to his knee.

"Look, I understand that everybody is going to use this as a lightning-rod subject to talk about for the next three days," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "Nothing is set in stone the rest of the year. We're going to evaluate everything day to day. We need Dwyane healthy."

Wade has been resting for nine days and told Spoelstra he preferred coming off the bench.

"This team has been in a rhythm," Wade said. "I didn't want to mess that up."

The Heat may have difficult catching the Pacers for the top seed, but they won't need Wade much to remain as the No. 2.

"I'm not having to force things," Wade said. "I live under my own umbrella. I do things that make me happy and what's best for my team. I don't worry about forcing things right now. I got a bigger picture in mind and that's all I'm focused on right now."

Bosh: I'm More Comfortable More Than Ever

Jan 18, 2014 11:50 AM

Chris Bosh has felt pressure of late as the Miami Heat have been uneven for stretches of the current season.

Bosh is often listed third in the pecking order of importance, but also the first to receive blame.

Erik Spoelstra has often said Bosh is the most critical piece for what the Heat attempt to accomplish in their system.

"I'm more comfortable more than ever," Bosh said. "I know who I am and I'm comfortable in my skin and that's what's most important. Because you can be somebody you're not and have this fake bravado and then go home and be like confused. Or you can just stay and march to the beat of your own drummer."
