Gustavo Ayon had surgery on Friday to repair a right shoulder injury.

Ayon will now undergo a period of rest, treatment and rehabilitation. He will be out through the remainder of the season.

At the time of his injury, Ayon had averages of 4.3 points on .510 shooting, 4.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.0 blocks in 16.5 minutes per game in 26 games (14 starts).

The Atlanta Hawks have released center Dexter Pittman.

Pittman, who was signed to a 10-day contract on Feb. 22, appeared in two games with the Hawks this year.

The Hawks have signed Muke Muscala in a related move. Muscala was the 44th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.

The Atlanta Hawks have signed Dexter Pittman to a 10-day contract while releasing Jared Cunningham.

Cunningham has spent most of the season in the NBA D-League. Pittman has spent the entire season in the D-League.

Cunningham was a first round pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.

The Atlanta Hawks have requested waivers on forward Antawn Jamison.

Jamison was acquired from the Los Angeles Clippers on Feb. 20 in exchange for the draft rights to Cenk Akyol. This season, Jamison has appeared in 22 games, averaging 3.8 points and 2.5 rebounds in 11.3 minutes.

The Atlanta Hawks have recalled Jared Cunningham from the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA D-League.

Cunningham has appeared in five games with the Hawks this season.

The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to sign Cartier Martin for the remainder of the season, a league source tells RealGM's Shams Charania.

Martin has played on 10-day contracts this season for both the Hawks and Chicago Bulls.

Martin is averaging 6.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in 17.1 minutes per game in 31 appearances with the Hawks.

The Los Angeles Clippers have traded Antawn Jamison to the Atlanta Hawks.

Jamison was signed to a one-year deal by the Clippers in the offseason.

The New York Knicks are attempting to resume trade talks with the Toronto Raptors on Kyle Lowry, according to sources.

The Knicks are offering packages including Iman Shumpert, Raymond Felton and Beno Udrih, sources say.

New York is reluctant to include Tim Hardaway Jr. or a future first round pick. The Raptors almost certainly will require one of those two assets to trade Lowry directly to the Knicks.

"It comes down to, can they talk themselves into getting rid of a first-rounder or Hardaway Jr. for Lowry," one league source said. 

League sources say a three-team deal has also been discussed in which Jeff Teague would end up with the Raptors, while Shumpert gets routed to the Atlanta Hawks and Lowry to the Knicks. Another trade scenario has the Knicks acquiring Teague. Those conversations have only been preliminary.

The New York Knicks are interested in upgrading the point guard position ahead of the deadline.

The Knicks were close to a trade for Kyle Lowry in December before talks fell apart.

The Knicks are now said to be interested in Jeff Teague of the Atlanta Hawks.

Teague signed a four-year, $32 million offer sheet with the Milwaukee Bucks in the offseason, which was matched by the Hawks. Teague would have to approve the trade and he would also take away the Knicks' wish for max cap space in 2015.

The Atlanta Hawks signed forward Cartier Martin to a second 10-day contract.

Martin has appeared in 27 games (two starts) with the Hawks this season, averaging 6.6 points and 2.0 rebounds in 17.0 minutes (.415 3FG%, .821 FT%). He has also played in six contests this year with the Chicago Bulls, and averaged 2.5 points in 7.9 minutes (.625 FG%, .600 3FG%).

On the season, Martin has played in 33 total games (two starting assignments), putting up 5.8 points and 1.8 rebounds in 15.3 minutes (.426 3FG% - tied for ninth in the NBA, .781 FT%).
