Wendell Carter Jr. has agreed to a four-year, $50 million contract extension with the Orlando Magic.
The deal is fully guaranteed.
Carter was acquired by hte Magic at last year's deadline from the Chicago Bulls.
The Orlando Magic have signed free agent guard-forward B.J. Johnson.
Johnson (6’7”, 200, 12/21/95) played and started in 14 games last season with Long Island of the NBA G League, averaging 18.4 ppg., 5.6 rpg., 1.6 apg. and 1.00 stlpg. in 31.1 minpg. He also appeared in 11 games with Brisbane of the National Basketball League in Australia, averaging 10.0 ppg. and 3.7 rpg. in 21.5 minpg.
In addition, the Magic have also waived guard Devin Cannady. He was signed as a free agent by Orlando on October 12 and did not play in any preseason action.

Cannady (6’1”, 190, 5/21/96) played in three games last season with Orlando, averaging 4.7 ppg. in 4.5 minpg. He originally was signed to a 10-day contract by Orlando on Apr. 6, then released on Apr. 13, before signing a two-way contract on Apr. 16. Cannady suffered an open fracture of his right ankle during the first quarter on Apr. 25 vs. Indiana. He was later waived on May 4.
The Magic have also waived center Jeremiah Tilmon. He was signed as a free agent by Orlando on October 7 and did not play in any preseason action.

Tilmon played in 24 games (23 starts) last season as a senior at the University of Missouri, averaging 12.4 ppg., 7.3 rpg. and 1.42 blkpg. in 27.6 minpg., while shooting .614 (113-184) from the field. He was named to the 2020-21 All-SEC Second Team.
In addition, the Magic have also waived center Jon Teske. He was signed as a free agent by Orlando on September 8 and played in two preseason games, averaging 2.5 ppg. and 2.0 rpg in 5.8 minpg.
The Orlando Magic have exercised their third-year team options on guard Cole Anthony, guard R.J. Hampton and forward Chuma Okeke.
Anthony, Hampton and Okeke are now signed through the 2022-23 season.
Anthony appeared in 47 games (34 starts) last season during his rookie campaign with Orlando, averaging 12.9 ppg., 4.7 rpg. and 4.1 apg. in 27.1 minpg., while shooting .832 (109-131) from the free throw line. He ranked among all NBA rookies in scoring (4th), rebounding (T-7th), assists (4th), free throw percentage (5th) and minutes played (9th).
Hampton played in 51 games (one start) last season during his rookie campaign with both Denver and Orlando, averaging 6.9 ppg., 3.5 rpg. and 1.7 apg. in 17.4 minpg.
Okeke (6’8”, 235, 8/18/98) appeared in 45 games (19 starts) last season during his rookie campaign with Orlando, averaging 7.8 ppg., 4.0 rpg., 2.2 apg. and 1.07 stlpg. in 25.2 minpg.
