New CBA Could Put LeBron In More Likely Position To Return To Cleveland

Jan 31, 2013 10:34 AM

With the NBA's new collective bargaining agreement making it difficult for team to have three max contract players, the 2014 decision awaiting LeBron James has become more interesting.

Over the past few months, the Oklahoma City Thunder and Memphis Grizzlies have traded away James Harden and Rudy Gay, respectively, as they avoid the luxury tax.

James' agent, Rich Paul, has been privately telling people for two years that he is interested in bringing his client back to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Paul's agency, Klutch Sports, is based in Cleveland.

"Riley has never given them the run of the place in Miami," one high-level associate of James' inner-circle said, "and they could all be back in business together in Cleveland. For Rich and [business manager] Maverick [Carter], they all see the benefits of getting the credit for bringing LeBron home again."

Dwyane Wade is entering his thirties, while Kyrie Irving may be the NBA's best point guard in his prime in 2014.

James has been contemplating a return to Cleveland throughout his tenure with the Heat, even second-guessing himself the night of decision. When owner Dan Gilbert released his infamous letter, James understood that there was no turning back, according to the report.

Heat To Target Chris Bosh For More Touches

Jan 30, 2013 2:18 AM

Chris Bosh attempted just three shots in the second half of the Miami Heat's loss to the Boston Celtics on Sunday. The Heat know that just three shots aren't enough for a player like Bosh.

“He’s one of our best players, one of our best shooters. …Three shots is definitely not enough for him,” LeBron James said. “We’ve got to do a better job of just trying to find him.”

James took responsibility to look for Bosh more often on offense, as will the rest of the team.

“It’s tough,” James said. “I know I wouldn’t feel much of a threat offensively if I only got three looks in a second half and overtime, so I know it’s tough, so we’ve got to be more conscious about that and try to get him some looks. Or don’t even try. Just make it happen.”

Chris Andersen Working To Get Into Game Shape

Jan 21, 2013 4:38 PM

Chris Andersen estimates he's at about 75 percent basketball conditioning but hopes to use the next couple weeks to regain top game shape.

"It’s a different game once you get out here and get five-on-five,” Andersen said. “That’s a whole different world of conditioning.”

To aid the process, Andersen -- who signed a 10-day contract with the Miami Heat on Sunday -- will go through two-a-day workouts.

“He has a lean, live body, so I think in the next three or four weeks you’ll see that change even more," Erik Spoelstra said. "He’ll get in better shape as the weeks go by. We have plenty of time left in the season."
