Wade: Hawks Have Behaved 'Unprofessional'

Apr 30, 2009 5:24 PM

Dwyane Wade's back felt better on Thursday and he seemed more concerned with the sportsmanship of the Hawks than his injury.

"I'm at the point where whatever is wrong with me, it doesn't matter," said Wade. "I am just moving on from my injuries."

Josh Smith attempted a between the legs dunk during Atlanta's blowout win in Game 5.

"It is [disrespectful]," said Wade. "One thing I go back to is something my high school coach always told me: "Act like you've been there before."

"He used to hate when I dunked and pounded my chest all the time. Win, lose or draw you are supposed to be classy. [There are] some unprofessional things that [the Hawks] have to take care of."

Mo Williams Sees One-Man Teams As Potential 2nd Round Foes

Apr 30, 2009 8:26 AM

Cleveland is preparing to play the winner of the series between Atlanta and Miami and will enter the series with a lot of confidence regardless.

"It's not like we're preparing for a Shaq [O'Neal] and a Kobe [Bryant], a guard and a big man," said Mo Williams. "We know with Miami it starts and ends with D-Wade, and with Atlanta it starts and ends with Joe Johnson. It's two guards that do a lot for the team."

Dwyane Wade sat out Tuesday's practice with back spasms, but he expects to play in Wednesday's Game 5.

"The test is how you feel [Wednesday], more than anything," Wade said. "I wish I had all of the answers, but I don't. I'm a little down. The game is [Wednesday]. And I'll be ready. If it's 100 percent or 35 percent, I'll be ready."

Beasley Not Adapting To Playoffs Like Rose

Apr 28, 2009 10:01 AM

Heat rookie Michael Beasley hasn't played as well as fellow top pick Derrick Rose this postseason, but he's doing his best to learn on the fly.

"He's such a gifted offensive player, when he gets a couple of open looks ... he expects to make it," Miami coach Erik Spoelstra said. "It's a great personality trait of his, and that's a part of his competitiveness.

"He's learning. He's learning that every single possession, you've got to be into it."

Beasley is just 11-for-36 in the playoffs, and at times has forced his shots against the Hawks. He also acknowledged that playoff basketball is completely different from the regular season.

"Every little play, every dribble, every shot, it's crazy. Everything is like 100 times faster," Beasley said.

Moon Out, Williams Uncertain For Game 4

Apr 27, 2009 12:57 PM

Jamario Moon will be inactive for Miami in tonight's Game four due to a strained lower abdominal muscle. He left game three with the injury in the second quarter.  He played only five minutes in the game and did not return.

Moon has been an important contributor for Miami since coming over in the Jermaine O'Neal and Shawn Marion swap.  He led the league in steals per turnover ratio during the regular season - averaging two steals per every turnover committed.

The Hawks' Marvin Williams is questionable for tonight's matchup.  He missed game three with a sore wrist and his status should be available right before tip-off.

O'Neal Stepping Up For Heat In Playoffs

Apr 26, 2009 5:17 PM

Heat center Jermaine O'Neal has stepped up his play in the postseason, especially the last two games, and has become a very important player for Miami.

"He's definitely the X-factor for the Miami Heat," Hawks forward Josh Smith said Sunday. "If he keeps playing the way he's playing, it's going to be tough to beat them."

O'Neal has averaged 20.5 points and 8 rebounds in the last two games of the series, both Miami wins.

"I'm a very emotional player," O'Neal said. "That's always kind of been my calling card since I was in Indiana. I was a guy really able to get in a rhythm and really build off the emotions of the crowd and the emotions of myself."

O'Neal should continue to be an important player for the Heat, as his coach has acknowledged his resurgence.

"He's seizing the opportunity right now ... really stepping up to the challenge," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said.

Williams Sits Out Atlanta's Loss To Miami

Apr 25, 2009 9:23 PM

Hawks forward Marvin Williams missed the team's Game 3 loss to the Heat on Saturday night with a sore wrist, according to the Associated Press.

Williams missed 16 games with a back injury at the end of the regular season, and hurt his wrist in Atlanta's Game 2 loss to Miami.

"It's a part of basketball," Hawks coach Mike Woodson said. "Injuries, you can't control. We've had our fair share this year and fortunately for us, when we've had key guys go down, other guys have stepped in and picked up the slack. Hey, I've got to go with the guys that are in uniform and push them to help us win."
