Sean May had a weight incentive in his contract with the Sacramento Kings, which kicked in on Wednesday.

'Sean May made weight today - 261 and 100k for his hard work,' said Sam Amick in a Twitter post.

Tyreke Evans' first day of training camp Tuesday was a difficult one, as numerous sources close to the team tell the Sacramento Bee that he sat out the Kings' scrimmage due to a knee injury.

Evans will undergo an MRI on Wednesday.

Kevin Johnson, mayor of Sacramento, said Tuesday that the city could lose the Kings if efforts for a new arena aren't stepped up.

"If we don't have a clear path to an arena in the not too distant future, then we as Sacramentans need to know that (the Kings) very well may look elsewhere," Johnson said.

The mayor made his statements after finding out the NCAA had bypassed Sacramento's bid to host the regional round of the men's basketball tournament.

Johnson said last week he'd like to see an arena proposal at Cal Expo take more solid form by the end of this year.

On Tuesday, however, he expressed a greater sense of urgency, and a desire to look for other sites and ideas for getting a new arena built.

"I don't have all the answers right now, but I will tell you this: When you look at Cal Expo as an option, the clock is ticking," he said.

"I've got to be more aggressive, and I've got to move the timeline up in terms of the arena," he added. "The timeline has to include an Option B, an Option C, and I haven't quite determined what we're going to do."

Desmond Mason met with the Sacramento Kings this week and could sign as soon as Thursday.

Mason took a physical after meeting with Kings officials in Sacramento on Wednesday, a person with knowledge of the meeting told The Associated Press. The preson spoke on condition of anonymity because a deal had not been signed.

It was reported last week that the Kings had signed second-round pick Jon Brockman, but nothing is official yet.

The team is obtaining an updated physical on the former University of Washington center, who was taken with the 38th overall pick in June's draft.

Kings general manager Geoff Petrie told the Sacramento Bee that he'd prefer to keep the team's roster at 13 players, which will be the total once Brockman is officially signed.

The Kings have signed Jon Brockman to a non-guaranteed contract, according to the Seattle Times.

Sacramento selected Brockman in the second round of June's NBA Draft.

Kings swingman Francisco Garcia fractured a finger while playing for the Dominican Republic recently.

Garcia broke the same finger back in March, but taped it and played through the remainder of the season.

He is expected to return to Sacramento next week to have the finger re-evaluated.

Kings guard Beno Udrih suffered a left knee injury while playing for the Slovenian national team last week.

He limped off the court in his team's win over Germany and is expected to miss three weeks of action, according to Eurobasket.net.

However, Kings president Geoff Petrie said that an MRI on Udrih's knee was negative and that the injury isn't considered serious.

"I talked to (Udrih's agent) Marc (Cornstein), and he had talked to Beno and said ... that it was a strain or sprain of some kind and that he was fine," Petrie told the Sacramento Bee. "I told Marc, hopefully we'll track Beno down the next day or two, too, (to talk), but he's going to stay with the team. He said (Udrih) wasn't going to play (in the remainder of Eurobasket play).

"Marc's words to me were, 'It's nothing to be concerned about.' ... We'll learn more here in the next two or three days."
