Stojakovic Out Due To Family Issues

Hornets forward Peja Stojakovic will miss Sunday's game against the Kings as he attends to a family matter.

It is not clear whether Stojakovic will be able to join New Orleans for Tuesday night's game at the Lakers.

Stojakovic is averaging 11.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per game this season.

Kings Scout Bet On Team's Games

The NBA has banned former Kings assistant director of scouting Jack Mai for betting money on league games, Yahoo! Sports has learned.

Mai bet on Sacramento's games in addition to other clubs.

The league informed teams in a memo on Wednesday that an investigation revealed Mai bet on games "limited to small amounts of money among acquaintances and there is no evidence that he ever attempted to use his position with the Kings to influence the outcome of any NBA game."

A league source told Yahoo! Sports that Mai bet on the Kings games for years, "some for, and some against."

Maloofs Fold WNBA Team, Focus On Kings

The WNBA's Sacramento Monarchs folded on Friday as the Maloof family looks to focus all of its energy on the NBA's Kings.

The decision was unexpected and has left the WNBA rushing to find a new owner and market for the franchise.

"We enjoyed our time with the WNBA and the Monarchs," co-owner Joe Maloof said in a statement. "We are extremely proud of an amazing run that included six straight playoff appearances and the 2005 WNBA Championship. All of our resources are now dedicated to bringing the Sacramento Kings back to championship caliber form."

The team could move to Oakland or San Jose and is scheduled to have the second pick in the 2010 WNBA Draft.

Nocioni Could Be Dealt To Boston In Three-Way

Sources told ESPN.com that the Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings, in discussing a Samuel Dalembert-for-Kenny Thomas swap, have discussed expanding that concept with Boston by trying to draw in the Celtics on a potential three-way deal that would finally land Andres Nocioni in Boston.

Discussions are reportedly ongoing and they have a long ways to go before being completed.

Sacramento would send Nocioni to Boston, Kenny Thomas, Tony Allen and Brian Scalabrine to Philadelphia and Dalembert and J.R. Giddens to Sacramento.

Source: Hornets, Kings Rumors Are Untrue

A Hornets team source says that rumors of a trade that would send Emeka Okafor to the Kings are untrue.

The Sacramento Bee reported on Sunday that the two clubs have discussed a deal involving the center and forward Kenny Thomas.

The source told the Times-Picayune that the Hornets haven't had anything trade discussions involving Okafor, who they acquired from the Bobcats for Tyson Chandler this past offseason.

The Kings and Hornets are discussing a deal that would send Emeka Okafor to Sacramento.

Sources told Sam Amick of the Sacramento Bee of the trade discussions.

The proposed swap would send forward Kenny Thomas to New Orleans. The Hornets would be inclined to agree to the deal because Thomas has an expiring contract worth $8.7 million.

However, the Kings have to be willing to take the five years and $62.5 million remaining on Okafor's deal.

Sacramento Getting Local Interest To Develop Arena Project

Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson released what he called a "request for offerings" Tuesday for a new arena that could be home to the Kings, saying he is looking for local help.

By Thursday, at least two developers, including the owner of the downtown railyard, said they plan to respond, and others were expressing interest.

"I'm excited that people are showing interest," Johnson said. "This is exactly what I had in mind when I talked about having a sense of urgency and a desire to reinvigorate the discussion."

Martin underwent the procedure on Monday after taking a few days to decide what he felt was the best course of action.

Kings guard Kevin Martin has three decisions to make regarding his fractured left wrist.

According to the Sacramento Bee, Martin can wear a soft cast and continue to play, undergo surgery and miss six to eight weeks or have the arm casted and miss a similar period of time.

"I'm going to turn my phone off early tonight, and get some good sleep, and probably make a decision tomorrow," Martin told the Bee on Thursday. "I played through it last night, but we'll just have to see."
