Gary Harris Suffered Torn Meniscus In Left Knee

Aug 27, 2022 2:33 PM

Orlando Magic guard Gary Harris has suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee. Harris will undergo further testing before a timetable for his return is determined.

Harris had a bounce-back season in his first full year with Orlando. Harris averaged 11.1 points and shot 38.4% on three-pointers.

Harris signed an extension with Orlando just before the start of this past offseason. Harris signed a two-year, $26 million deal. Each season's salary is $13 million, but the second season for 2023-24 is non-guaranteed.

The Magic consider Harris to be a good veteran to mix in with their young backcourt. Harris was expected to play a significant rotation role this season alongside Cole Anthony, Markelle Fultz and Jalen Suggs.
