Glen Davis Set For Foot Surgery, Likely Done For Season

Jan 31, 2013 5:23 PM

Glen Davis will undergo surgery to repair a fractured fifth metatarsal in his left foot.

Davis is expected to miss eight to 12 weeks, which could effectively end his season.

Davis suffered the injury on Wednesday when he appeared to step on the foot of Iman Shumpert.

“I feel really bad for the guy,” J.J. Redick said. “I know he’s had high expectations for himself and for this team this season, and he’s had a rough go of it. I feel bad for him.”

Redick Keeping In Touch With GM, Agent On Trade Talks

Jan 28, 2013 8:52 PM

J.J. Redick's presence in trade rumors will undoubtedly increase as the NBA trade deadline on Feb. 21 approaches.

Redick spoke with RealGM on Monday, discussing the trade deadline and his impending unrestricted free agency

“It’s become a home for me," Redick told RealGM of Orlando. "I met my wife there and I’d love to play there after this year. If they wanted to re-sign me, I’d definitely consider it, obviously if I’m here past the deadline.

"I like Orlando and I like the people. The community has been wonderful for me. I’m very grateful to play for one team for seven years. It’s very unique and I’m fortunate for that.”

Magic general manager Rob Hennigan controls Redick’s fate for the rest of the season. As a result, Redick has kept in contact with Hennigan and his agent while rumors continue to surface.

“My agent (Arn Tellem) has kept me in the loop and Rob has kept me in the loop,” said Redick. “Nothing is imminent, nothing is in the foreseeable future. I expect that there will be more discussion, more serious discussion I should say, around the deadline. If I’m here, I’m here. If I’m not here, I’m not here. There’s nothing I can do to control that situation.”

Celtics Elevating Interest In J.J. Redick

Jan 25, 2013 8:55 AM

The Boston Celtics have "ramped up" their interest level in J.J. Redick.

It was reported last week that the Celtics expressed strong interest in the Orlando Magic guard, who's having a career season, averaging almost 15 points and 4.4 assists.

Shooting from the two-guard spot has been a void for the Celtics throughout the season.

Redick Drawing Trade Interest From Several Teams

Jan 11, 2013 10:45 PM

Rob Hennigan has informed J.J. Redick that several teams have an active interest in trading for him.

"First of all, you have to hope that there’s another team that wants you because there are never any guarantees there," Redick said. "The way I approach things and the way I have been approaching things recently is to just focus on the day. I do feel overwhelmed at times if I try to picture myself a month from now (at the trade deadline) or six months from now in free agency. It’s just not worth worrying right now.

"At the (trade) deadline, maybe there’s an offer that (GM) Rob (Hennigan) has to consider. But I don’t get any indication from him that they are actively looking to move me," Redick continued. "So if I’m here past the deadline, that’s the first hurdle."

Redick, 28, is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
