Baron Lobbying For Spot On 2012 Team?

Aug 25, 2008 9:28 PM

Baron Davis was one of the many people who stayed up late to watch the Gold Medal game between the United States and Spain.  He was left impressed with Spain, proud of his fellow Americans and longing to play in London.

"Spain balled their asses off - can't wait till Rubio makes it to the league," wrote Davis in his blog.  "He's a gem. Portland should be nice too, with Oden AND Rudy Fernandez coming in (did you see that nasty one-hand over Dwight Howard, are you kidding???).

"It would be an honor to play for the gold in London 2012 to keep the Olympic title where it belongs, here in the US," added Davis.  "What a dream come true."

Shaun Livingston Continues To Progress

Aug 21, 2008 4:34 PM

Shaun Livingston, one of the few free agent point guards left on the market, continues to workout in an attempt to draw suitors prior to the season, according to The Orange County Register.

The Clippers renounced their rights to Livingston last month, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Roughly 18 months ago he suffered a left knee injury that required surgery to repair ruptures on all the major ligaments in his knee, as well as cartilage repair.

He has been working out and taking part in full-scale pickup games with a few dozen NBA players.

Kaman Still Receiving Criticism For Choosing Germany

Aug 18, 2008 9:14 AM

Clippers' center Chris Kaman is still receiving criticism for opting to play for Germany in this summer's Olympics, according to ESPN.com.

Kaman, who's great-grandparents were German, hasn't even received approval from his own father.

"My dad is not so thrilled," Kaman said. "My mom has always supported me; she's great. My dad is kind of negative about it. He's like, 'You're not German, you're an American citizen.' "

However, Kaman is now a German citizen, as well.

"He should be happy," Kaman said of his father, whom he has not spoken to since the Olympic tournament began. "It's his grandparents, so he should be happy about it, but sometimes he focuses on the negative a little bit. I tell him, 'C'mon, it's just basketball. That's the way I look at it.' But my dad was a little negative. I had to get in his face a little bit."
