Frank Kaminsky has sought a buyout before Friday's deadline in order to become playoff eligible with another team.

The Charlotte Hornets, however, have not been interested in discussing a buyout with Kaminsky.

Kaminsky is averaging 5.2 points, 2.4 rebounds and 10.4 minutes per game this season.

Kaminsky will be a restricted free agent this summer.

Michael Jordan owns approximately 90 percent of the Charlotte Hornets with the current estimated value of the team at $1.2 billion.

The NBA approved the purchase of the Hornets by Jordan with just $30 million in cash. The then-Bobcats were valued at $275 million at the time of purchase. The NBA almost certainly would not approve that type of deal today, but the league and global economy were both in a very different place in 2010.

The Hornets have typically operated at a loss, but league documents showed Jordan's fellow owners sent him more than $130 million in revenue assistance between 2012 and 2017.

The Charlotte Hornets claimed Shelvin Mack off the waiver wire. 

The 29-year-old Mack was released by the Hawks after getting traded from the Grizzlies for Tyler Dorsey on deadline day.

The Charlotte Hornets had interest in trading for Harrison Barnes ahead of the deadline.

Charlotte was only offering its own first round pick if the Dallas Mavericks took on money they didn't want.

Barnes was eventually traded to the Sacramento Kings.

Barnes has a $25 million option for next season.

The Charlotte Hornets and Memphis Grizzlies were close to a trade of Marc Gasol, but it was derailed by some last-minute haggling.

The Hornets were prepared to trade a lottery protected first round pick for Gasol.

The Grizzlies eventually traded Gasol to the Toronto Raptors. Memphis acquired Jonas Valanciunas, Delon Wright, C.J. Miles and a 2024 second round pick.

Gasol has a player option for 19-20.

The Grizzlies appear to be on the verge of embarking on a rebuild.

There is "increasing skepticism" from both sides that a trade will not go through before the Thursday deadline, according to Sean Deveney of Sporting News.

The framework of the trade would involve Gasol, with some combination of Malik Monk or Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, or both, returning to Memphis.

Gasol sat out the Grizzlies' game against the Timberwolves on Tuesday night.

The Memphis Grizzlies and Charlotte Hornets are in serious talks on a Marc Gasol trade.

Gasol could become a free agent this offseason.

The Hornets are currently run by Mitch Kupchak, who drafted Gasol with the Los Angeles Lakers.
