The Los Angeles Lakers have recalled Devin Ebanks from the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA Development League.

Ebanks has appeared in 12 games (four starts) with the Lakers this season, averaging 2.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.5 assists in 12.6 minutes.

Assigned to the D-Fenders on February 15, Ebanks averaged 18.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 32.0 minutes in three games.

The New Jersey Nets have signed Gerald Green of the Los Angeles D-Fenders.

In 22 games, 13 starts, with the D-Fenders this season, Green (6-8, 200) averaged 19.1 points and 4.6 rebounds in 30.6 minutes.  

The 2012 NBA D-League All-Star Game Most Valuable Player, Green scored 28 points in 24 minutes during NBA All-Star festivities in Orlando.  

The Nets plan on signing Gerald Green on Monday.

Green, who was a first round pick of the Celtics in 2005, has been playing in the D-League for the D-Fenders.

Green is averaging 22.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per 36 minutes in 22 games this season.

The Los Angeles Lakers assigned second-year forward Devin Ebanks to the Los Angeles D-Fenders, the Lakers’ NBA Development League affiliate. This is the second assignment for Ebanks of his career.

Gerald Green of the Los Angeles D-Fenders has been named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Feb. 6-12, when the D-Fenders went 4-0.

Green, a 6-8, 200-pound forward, averaged 27.3 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting 54 percent from the floor last week. He recorded back-to-back 30-plus point games, including a 35-point performance in a 138-107 win over the Erie BayHawks on Feb. 6, and a 31-point outing on Feb. 8, in a 110-98 win over the Tulsa 66ers.

For the season, Green is averaging 19.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 19 games for the D-Fenders.

Twenty of the NBA Development League’s top prospects, including eight who have NBA experience, have been chosen to play in the sixth annual NBA D-League All-Star Game.

Chosen to the NBA D-League All-Star West Team are Justin Dentmon and Lance Thomas (Austin Toros), currently a member of the New Orleans Hornets; Brandon Costner, Gerald Green, and Elijah Millsap (Los Angeles D-Fenders); Blake Ahearn and Andre Emmett (Reno Bighorns); Greg Smith (Rio Grande Valley Vipers); and Jerome Dyson and Marcus Lewis (Tulsa 66ers).   

Selected to the NBA D-League All-Star East Team, playing host to the West Team in Orlando, are Tyrell Biggs (Canton Charge); Edwin Ubiles (Dakota Wizards); Keith McLeod (Erie BayHawks); Darnell Lazare and Walker Russell, Jr. (Fort Wayne Mad Ants), currently a member of the Detroit Pistons; Marqus Blakely (Iowa Energy); Charles Garcia (Sioux Falls Skyforce); and JamesOn Curry, Jeff Foote, and Jerry Smith (Springfield Armor).   

The Lakers have waived Derrick Caracter.

Caracter was a second round pick in 2010 and injured his left knee in early December.

The Los Angeles D-Fenders have acquired Rafer Alston.

"We're excited to add a player with as much experience as Rafer to the D-Fenders' backcourt and believe he will undoubtedly help us continue towards our ultimate goal of an NBA Development League Championship,” D-Fenders Head Coach Eric Musselman said.

The Los Angeles D-Fenders have acquired Ishmael Smith from the NBA Development League Available Player Pool, it was announced today.

Smith, a 6-foot, 175-pound guard out of Wake Forest University, originally joined the NBA after signing with Houston as an undrafted free agent in 2010.
