Guard Milt Palacio, a free agent after playing with Utah last season, is still a Jazz possibility for 2006-07, senior VP of basketball operations Kevin O'Connor said.

News reports last week said New Jersey was also somewhat interested in him as a contingency plan if the Nets couldn't sign Eddie House, but they got House on Friday.

A report in the Italian Web magazine Basketground.it said the team Virtus Bologna wanted to sign Palacio, and if it couldn't, it would pursue Travis Best.

No Truth To Dee Brown Playing Overseas

Aug 9, 2006 12:29 PM

Henry Thomas, agent for Dee Brown, denied Internet rumors that Brown was talking with teams in Israel and Croatia.

"There's no truth to any rumors about Dee playing overseas," said Thomas, who quickly returned a call about the report.

"I heard that there was an Internet site that made reference to him talking to some teams . . . but no teams from overseas have contacted us about Dee, and we certainly haven't contacted any teams overseas about him playing over there."

Thomas also said he and the Jazz are "still talking," hoping to complete the contract soon for Utah's first of two second-round draft choices, the No. 46 overall pick.
