Boozer, Iverson Involved In Three-Way Deal?

Jun 26, 2006 11:07 PM

According to The Chicago Tribune, the Jazz have been involved in talks with Philadelphia and Boston about a three-way trade that would primarily involve All-Star Allen Iverson, Wally Szczerbiak and Carlos Boozer.

Reportedly, Utah would send Boozer to the 76ers, who would send Iverson to the Celtics, who would send Szczerbiak to the Jazz.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Utah would almost certainly have to get another player in such a considering Szczerbiak will be playing on a surgically-repaired knee and will be 30 in March.  Tribune writer Steve Luhm mentions Al Jefferson as a potential possibility.

Asked about the rumored three-team trade, however, O'Connor said, "It doesn't have as much life as everybody seems to think it does."

O'Connor Mum On Boozer Talk

Jun 20, 2006 7:10 AM

Jazz basketball boss Kevin O'Connor shed no light Monday on a weekend newspaper report that power forward Carlos Boozer is the subject of trade talks between Utah and the Memphis Grizzlies, the Deseret News is reporting.

"I've got no comment," said O'Connor.

Citing unidentified "plugged-in league executives" as its sources, the Akron (Ohio) Beacon Journal revealed Sunday that the Jazz and Grizzlies are talking about Boozer.

Talks between the Jazz and other teams evidently heated up earlier this month during the NBA pre-draft camp in Orlando ? with several players, not just Boozer, among the topics of discussion.

Whaley's Agent Frustrated With Raptors

Jun 15, 2006 9:07 AM

Michael Naiditch, the agent for new Raptors center Robert Whaley, is worried that the Raptors haven't even asked the second-year NBAer to come to Toronto and take a physical following last week's trade which sent Rafael Araujo to the Jazz.

Whaley was thrown into the deal along with Kris Humphries to make the salaries match, and according to the Toronto Sun Humphries touched down in town a few days ago for his physical.  Naiditch hopes the Raptors either commit to Whaley or waive him -- and not leave him dangling in the wind.

"It's hard for me to say anything about Robert being waived. They make that decision," Naiditch said. "But if they are going to waive him, the sooner the better. The (NBA) Summer League is coming up (in the first week of July) and it would be nice for Robert to be free to play for a team that's really interested in him."

Jazz Wouldn't Mind Trading Up In Draft

Jun 12, 2006 4:13 AM

According to a report in the Deseret News, the Utah Jazz suggest that there is a good chance they'll make a significant deal before the 2006-07 season begins, and that the team would  not mind trading up from their #14 position in the upcoming NBA draft.

The Houston Chronicle recently reported that the Jazz join Portland, New Orleans/Oklahoma City, Golden State, Philadelphia and Orlando on the long list of teams that "would like to move up" by draft night.

Seattle, which currently has the 10th pick, and Toronto, which owns the No. 1 overall, both reportedly are interested in perhaps moving down.
