Magic Acquire Serge Ibaka From Thunder

Jun 23, 2016 9:00 PM

The Oklahoma City Thunder have traded Serge Ibaka to the Orlando Magic.

The Thunder will acquire Victor Oladipo, Ersan Ilyasova and the draft rights to Domantas Sabonis.

Ibaka had a disappointing regular season but his value was clear in the Western Conference Finals with his ability to hit outside shots and defend all areas of the court.

Ibaka will be an unrestricted free agent in 2017 and he's wanted to be more of a centerpiece. Ibaka wasn't seeking or anticipating a trade from the Thunder.

Steven Adams has emerged at center for the Thunder and he'll soon be coming off his rookie deal.

The Toronto Raptors also had serious talks about a trade for Ibaka.
