Sonics' West Preparing To Leave Seattle?

Jan 30, 2008 5:45 AM

Guard Delonte West, acquired from Boston as part of the Ray Allen trade, feels that his time with the Sonics may be nearing an end.

"All of my stuff in my apartment in Seattle is still packed up," he said. "I haven't even unpacked my stuff. I still got a month-to-month efficiency here. It's still in bags."

While he hasn't complained about his role and he hasn't asked for a trade, West says he is unsure of his future with the team, according to the Seattle Times.

"I haven't necessarily been welcomed with open arms," he said. "I thought they would tell me to go to the D-League with [Mickael] Gelabale. I'm not even getting in the rotation in practice."

Kevin Durant's 26 points and go-ahead jump shot with 32.6 seconds remaining snapped the Sonics' 14 game losing steak against the reigning NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs, 88-85.

"Fourteen games? That's a big number. You kind of don't want to show your face when you're losing like that," said Sonics' forward Chris Wilcox.

"It was like we won the championship," said Durant. "It was a big-time win for us."

Seattle's Watson Doesn't Think He Fits Into Team's Long-Term Plans

Jan 25, 2008 5:10 PM

Seattle guard Earl Watson doesn't think he fits into the team's longterm plans, according to The News Tribune.

He spoke openly about the team's rebuilding process on Thursday, also addressing rumors that the team might deal him before next month's deadline.

?I?m upset after every loss,? he told Eric Williams of the Tribune. ?The tension obviously builds for me after every loss. You always want your career to take steps forward. For me, winning is a big thing, especially after some of the transactions we made last summer (trading cornerstones Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis)."

?You know, we gave up a lot. At the same time, I want to win. I?m not trying to go through rebuilding years, plural. I want to win. I think fans want their team to win, and fans pay money to see their team win. We all want to win, we?re all in it together, but at the same time it is what it is.?

Szczerbiak Appears To Be Unfazed By Trade Rumors

Jan 19, 2008 4:20 AM

Seattle players Wally Sczcerbiak, Earl Watson and Luke Ridnour  continue to be linked to potential trades, the Seattle Times is reporting.

One of the latest has Szczerbiak and Watson heading to Miami for Ricky Davis, Jason Williams and Dorell Wright.  Sources, however, say the deal is unlikely.

"It's tough. I think the writing is on the wall here," said Szczerbiak, who has been traded twice.

Said Szczerbiak: "At this point in my career I want to win. I want to get on a team that has the opportunity to make the playoffs, not saying we can't here. We could get on a run. But a change of scenery could help that."

Trade rumors are nothing new, Szczerbiak said, and being traded to Miami and playing with Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade ? "there's a lot worse places to play."
