Kawhi Leonard Loses Lawsuit Against Nike Over 'Klaw' Logo

Apr 25, 2020 5:59 PM

Kawhi Leonard lost his copyright lawsuit against Nike alleging that the sneaker company stole his "Klaw" logo.

U.S. District Judge Michael W. Mosman ruled that the two designs were "substantively different."

"It’s not merely a derivative work of the sketch itself. I do find it to be new and significantly different from the design," ruled the judge.

Lou Williams On Finishing Career With Clippers: 'I'm Not Playing For Anybody Else After This'

Apr 19, 2020 2:57 PM

Lou Williams revealed that he wants to finish his career with the Los Angeles Clippers, discussing how he was rejuvenated after joining the team.

"I was at a place in my career where I thought that I was done, and Doc and the rest of the guys rejuvenated me again and gave me that confidence that I needed to move forward in my career. And I've had the best years of my career with the Clippers," said Williams during an interview with Ros Gold-Onwude.

Williams has one year remaining on his three-year, $24 million deal.

Williams added that he doesn't see himself playing for any other team.

"This is it. Listen, all teams out there, I'm not playing for anybody else after this... That's my leverage. I identify with this group of guys, I identify with this organization. I don't see me finding that somewhere else."

Doc Rivers Channels Dr. Seuss On NBA Return: I Will Play Anywhere, I Will Play In A House

Apr 9, 2020 11:28 AM

The NBA is considering a number of options for how they will handle finishing the rest of the 19-20 season if they receive the all-clear. Teams will almost certainly play without fans in attendance and could also play best-of-three playoff rounds.

Doc Rivers referenced the works of Dr. Seuss for how he feels about the situation with his willingness to play anywhere.

"If it means we get to play and continue our pursuit for the goal that we want, I feel like Dr. Seuss: 'I will play anywhere. I will play in a house. I will play in a mouse,'" Rivers said. "I think that's how our team feels. We don't care where, when, why, what. We just want to go after our goal. I'm speaking by myself on that."

Rivers has assigned his assistants potential playoff opponents to scout and prepare for.

Clippers Believe Break Will Help Kawhi Leonard Get Into 'Phenomenal Shape'

Apr 9, 2020 11:24 AM

Doc Rivers expects Kawhi Leonard to be in "phenomenal" shape whenever the NBA returns as the time away will give his body a chance to rest after he spent last offseason recovering from injuries and a long title run with the Toronto Raptors.

"I know Kawhi's overworking. I can guarantee you that," Rivers said with a laugh Wednesday on a video call with reporters. "And the difference is, during the summer, Kawhi couldn't work, you know, so now he's got this break and he's able to train.

"The Kawhi we'll see will be in phenomenal shape. PG [Paul George] is another guy that's gonna be in phenomenal shape."

The Clippers have tried to keep their players in the best shape possible by providing them personal workout equipment to build home gyms if needed.

"Our performance and medical team did a great job of kind of seeing probably what lies ahead and said we're probably gonna have to get each of our players home gyms," said Lawrence Frank, president of basketball operations. "And by those guys being ahead of it, it allowed them to get the ball rolling because once the NBA did close facilities, when all teams were calling for supplies, there was such a run because you're not just dealing with the NBA but with all athletes, and literally, people were out of equipment."
