Cavs 'Very Interested' In Signing Ricky Rubio

Jun 27, 2022 8:37 AM

The Cleveland Cavaliers were dismayed when Ricky Rubio went down with a torn ACL in late-December. To aid their playoff push, the Cavs ultimately traded Rubio and his expiring contract to the Indiana Pacers for Caris LeVert.

Now, with Rubio's contract having expired, the Cavaliers would like to bring Rubio back to Cleveland. Because the Pacers didn't waive Rubio and his contract expired, the Cavs are able to re-sign the veteran point guard this summer.

Rubio had a bounce-back season with Cleveland. He didn't shoot well for the umpteenth year in a row, but Rubio averaged 13.1 points and 6.6 assist in 28.5 minutes per game off the bench.

Cavs Refresh Brand Identity, Update Logo Collection

Jun 4, 2022 12:23 PM

The Cleveland Cavaliers unveiled a refreshed brand identity, including an updated collection of logos.

The theme for the release was "Gold is back." The updated colorways now feature gold, wine, and black.

The new design shifts away from the recent navy and mustard yellow colorways.

“It wasn’t necessarily something that was going to shock the fans, it was going to feel new, feel fresh, but also familiar,” said Cavs creative director Daniel Arsham. “I also feel like the team is in a different place than we were certainly from our championship season (2016), and I kind of want to give our new young team their own mark that they can own as we move forward in this new era.”

The Cavs will get new jerseys for the upcoming season as part of the rebrand.

The proposed jersey designs will also include Statement, Icon and Association Edition uniforms.

Pistons, Pacers, Spurs Interested In Collin Sexton

Jun 1, 2022 12:55 PM

The Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers are considered the "biggest threats" to sign Collin Sexton away from the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to reporting from Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.

The San Antonio Spurs also have "some Sexton fans in their front office."

The Cavaliers had a highly successful season despite losing Sexton early on with a torn meniscus.

The Cavaliers would like to sign Sexton to a contract in the $15 million to $18 million range, while his camp is seeking $18 million to $22 million per season. Cleveland is skeptical there is a team out there that will be willing to pay Sexton more than $20 million per season.
