An NBA source said the Celtics remain interested in free agent forward Darius Miles, who hasn't played the last two seasons because of a knee injury.

The New Orleans Hornets officially signed forward James Posey to a five year, $25 million contract on Wednesday, the Associated Press is reporting.
"I look for them to do big things this upcoming season, after the great things they did last season," Posey said. "I want to contribute as best I can."
"You can see, it's just sitting right there with the young core they have. Chris Paul is a great leader, and with David West, Peja [Stojakovic], and Tyson Chandler, they have a group that competes every single day. I hope I'm the missing piece that furthers them on this journey."
The Boston Celtics announced today that they have re-signed guard Eddie House. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.
?I am excited to have Eddie back this year,? said Danny Ainge, the Celtics? executive director of basketball operations/general manager. ?Everyone knows how big Eddie was for us in the Finals this year, and we think Eddie will continue to be a key contributor as we work to win Banner 18.?
House, a 6?1?, 175lb sharp-shooting guard, shot 39 percent from three-point range last season, including 41.2 percent during the NBA Finals, during which he scored nine points in the second half of the Celtics? record-setting Game 4 comeback win in Los Angeles on June 12th. In his eighth year in the league, Eddie scored in double figures 23 times last season while averaging less than one turnover per game.
The Boston Celtics announced today that they have re-signed guard Tony Allen. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Allen, a 6?4?, 213lb guard, has spent his entire four year career with the Celtics after being drafted with the 25th overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft. The former Oklahoma State Cowboy recorded career highs in minutes (1373), assists (114), and points (494) in 75 games last season as he worked to return from his January 2007 knee injury. Allen posted averages of 6.6 points and 2.2 rebounds in 18.3 minutes per game during the 2007-08 campaign. In his 11 starts last season Allen averaged 9.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.45 steals in 29.2 minutes per game including a 16 point performance in a 110-91 victory over the Lakers in Los Angeles on December 31, 2007. The Celtics had a 9-2 record in games that Allen started last season. Allen has posted career averages of 7.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.01 steals in 236 career games.
The Celtics have displayed interest in free agent forward Devean George, according to an NBA source.
Several teams have inquired about George, who played for Dallas last season and won three NBA titles with the Lakers. The Celtics have $2.8 million of mid-level exception funds available.
The Celtics agreed to terms with guards Eddie House and Tony Allen to return, GM Danny Ainge announced today. Both will get two-year contracts (although House's second year is a player option, according to an NBA source).
The Chicago Bulls will be playing in the Vegas Summer League in 2009, and Boston and New Jersey could also be on their way next season.
"Chicago is coming next year; Boston is talking about returning, and so is New Jersey," LeGarie said. "I think 24 teams is the max to maintain the quality of the league."
The Celtics are looking at a number of options via free agency with James Posey having left the team for the Hornets, according to The Boston Globe.
Posey signed a four-year, $25 million deal with New Orleans on Wednesday.
Available options for Boston include Michael Finley, Devean George, Matt Barnes, Bostjan Nachbar, Maurice Evans, C.J. Miles and Bonzi Wells.
"We go to the next options," said Danny Ainge. "We're not going to sign one player that is going to replace James Posey. We're going to do it in a different way and different fashion. We are going to reallocate our dollars in different ways."
The Phoenix Suns and Boston Celtics both missed out on their free agent target on Wednesday, when point guard Tyronn Lue agreed to a two year contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, the East Valley Tribune is reporting.
Lue signed for the bi-annual exception of $1.9 million, which Phoenix did not have available after using the exception on Grant Hill last season.
The move comes as a double blow for the Celtics, who earlier in the day lost free agent James Posey to the New Orleans Hornets.
The Suns will now look at Sam Cassell, Jason Williams, and Shaun Livingston, or they could try to trade to find a backup for Steve Nash.
The Boston Celtics announced today that they have signed free agent center Patrick O?Bryant. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
O?Bryant, a 7?0?, 249lbs center, has appeared in 40 career games for the Golden State Warriors posting averages of 1.7 points and 1.3 rebounds per game. The former Bradley Brave played in eight games for the Bakersfield Jam of the Development League last season with averages of 16.9 points, 10.1 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game. The ninth overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft netted a career-high 10 points against the Los Angeles Clippers on November 16, 2007.
