LBJ Reaches 10,000 In The RGM Daily Rundown For Feb. 27th's Games

LeBron James became the youngest player in NBA history to score 10,000 points as the Cavaliers took on the Celtics in Boston on Wednesday night. He left the court after spraining his ankle in the first half, but returned to reach the milestone and nearly led Cleveland to a win over the East-leading Celtics. The Atlanta Hawks used a strong third quarter to knock off the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night. Mike Bibby, who was a member of the Kings just a few weeks ago, notched 24 points and 12 assists and Al Horford added 16 points and 14 rebounds for the Hawks, who went 35-for-40 for the foul line and outrebounded Sacramento by six. Brad Miller led with 25 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and Beno Udrih tallied 25 points and 8 assists for the Kings, who shot 49% from the field and notched 19 second chance points.

Boston Signs P.J. Brown

The Boston Celtics have signed free agent P.J. Brown, according to the Boston Herald.

New Orleans and Dallas were also interested in signing Brown.

He played with the Bulls last season before entering semi-retirement.

Clippers, Cassell About To Announce Buyout?

According to the Boston Globe, Sam Cassell and the L.A. Clippers are set to announce that the two sides have reached a buyout, allowing Cassell to join the team of his choice.  

Most believe that the team Cassell will sign with is the Boston Celtics, although both Dallas and Denver are believed to be making a run at the veteran guard also.

Cassell Still In Limbo On Buyout

David Falk is still working with the Clippers to get Sam Cassell out of his contract and into Boston green, the L.A. Times is reporting.

According to the Times, Cassell was seemingly at a loss for words at practice Tuesday. "I don't know. It's getting to a point . . . ," he said, his voice trailing off.

"I'm being a professional about it. I've been a professional my whole career. I was taught that way early in my career with Clyde Drexler, Kenny Smith how to be professional in any situation or any crises."

Barry Still Uncertain Where He'll Play

Brent Barry has now cleared waivers, but he has yet to decide where he's going to continue his career, the San Antonio Express-News is reporting.

?As of 10 a.m. (Tuesday), there is no decision,? Barry said. ?There have been so many changes over the past few days, it?s very difficult. Just because I?ve cleared, I don?t have a timetable that today is the day I have to decide.?

Suns Expect To Hear From Barry By Tuesday Morning

The Phoenix Suns say that they expect to hear from free agent Brent Barry by either Monday night or Tuesday morning as to which team has will be joining, the East Valley Tribune is reporting.

Barry, who was traded from San Antonio to Seattle before being bought out, is believed to be favoring both Phoenix and San Antonio, with Houston and Boston both in the mix for his services, as well.

If Barry chooses the Spurs, he must wait 30 days before he can rejoin his former team.

Barry Sweepstakes Heating Up

The Dallas Mavericks have two open roster spots that must be filled by the weekend and have competition in the hunt for gunner Brent Barry, according to the Star-Telegram.

In addition to the Mavericks, the Suns, Spurs, Rockets and Celtics have expressed interest in the guard.

Jason Kidd, one of the newest Mavs, has already thought of recruiting Barry.

"I was going to call him and see where his mind-set is, but I haven't had a chance to call," Kidd told the Star-Telegram. "He makes the game easy. He would definitely help."

Roy Leaves Game With Injured Ankle

All-Star Brandon Roy was forced from Sunday's game against the Celtics with an aggravated right ankle sprain, the Associated Press is reporting.

"It's pretty sore. I'm going to get an MRI tonight," Roy said. "It's something that's been bothering me since the Dallas game before the break."

The Blazers were up by 17 in the first half but squandered the lead and the game in the second half without Roy.

League sources claim that the Boston Celtics have contacted representatives for both Flip Murray and Brent Barry, according to the Boston Globe.

Both Barry and Murray become free agents on Tuesday.

Boston is also rumored to be interested in recently-waived center Jamaal Magloire, but they have yet to contact his representatives.
