Hawks Announce Jalen Johnson Had Knee Procedure

The Atlanta Hawks announced that forward Jalen Johnson underwent a non-surgical procedure on his left knee after the season. The procedure was to alleviate tendinitis for Johnson. He's expected to make a full recovery before training camp this fall.

Johnson appeared in just 22 NBA games in his rookie season. He was part of a deep Hawks frontcourt. In eight G League contests with the College Park Skyhawks, Johnson averaged 22.5 points, 11.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.6 blocks in 34.6 minutes per game.

James Wiseman Could Return To Action For Summer League

Jun 13, 2022 11:29 AM

James Wiseman has missed the entirety of the 2021-22 season for the Golden State Warriors. But the former second overall pick recently had a procedure which could have him ready to play in 2022 Summer League.

Wiseman and Warriors GM Bob Meyers traveled to London in April and the young center had a plasma-rich injection to promote healing throughout his body. The hope was that this would help Wiseman's knee, which was originally surgically repaired in April of 2021.

Wiseman has been pain-free in recent weeks. That has him nearing clearance for full-contact work in the coming weeks. The Warriors and Wiseman both have set a goal for him to be cleared to play in Summer League, which starts in early-July.

Golden State will participate in both the California Classic on July 2 and 3, as well as the Las Vegas Summer League, which runs from July 7 to July 17. The hope is that Wiseman will be able to play in at least some of those contests to give him a launching pad into a productive offseason before 2022 training camp this fall.

Bogdan Bogdanovic Underwent Right Knee Surgery

Jun 11, 2022 2:22 PM

Atlanta Hawks wing Bogdan Bogdanovic will be out of 2022 EuroBasket after recently undergoing surgery on his right knee. Bogdanovic was limited throughout the playoffs due to right knee issues, including missing Game 5 of the Hawks 4-1 series loss to the Miami Heat.

The doctor for the Serbian National Team shared that Bogdanovic would be out for EuroBasket, and that his recovery is expected to take at least three months.

“Two or three weeks ago, our national team member (Bogdanovic) underwent surgery on his right knee, and recovery takes time, not very short, at least three months,” Serbian National Team doctor Dragan Radovanovic said. “We hear from each other almost every day, the procedure went in the best order, at a clinic in California. He will stay in the USA for another month, and then he should come to Belgrade, Serbia”.

A flexion contracture is generally an injury or condition which results in an inability to fully straighten the injured part of the body. This can occur through contact, overuse or genetically.

If Ingram is recovered in the timeline given, he'll be healthy well in advance of training camp. Training camp will start in late-September or early-October.

Optimism Stephen Curry Will Play Game 4 Of NBA Finals

Jun 9, 2022 12:52 PM

Stephen Curry appeared to have reinjured his left foot on a play where several Celtics and Warriors dove for a loose ball in the fourth quarter of Game 3 of the 2022 NBA Finals. Fortunately, it appears Curry avoided any sort of major injury.

Curry was previously injured in a regular season game against Boston when Marcus Smart dove for a loose ball and rolled up on Curry's foot/ankle. Curry missed nearly a month of action before returning for the start of the playoffs.

Curry appears to have avoided the need for an MRI. He plans to take part in Warriors practice on the off day between Games 3 and 4 on Thursday.

Steph Curry Doesn't 'Expect To Miss A Game' Due To Foot Injury

Jun 9, 2022 1:21 AM

Steph Curry said he doesn't expect to miss Game 4 of the NBA Finals due to the foot injury he suffered in the fourth quarter of Game 3.

“I don’t expect to miss a game,” Curry said. “Hopefully it responds well over the next couple days.”

Curry suffered the injury during a scramble for a loose ball.

Curry compared the current injury to a foot sprain he suffered against the Celtics in the regular season, though he added that it wasn't as bad.

Steve Kerr said that he took Curry out of the game with two minutes left because the Warriors were down 14 and not because of concern over the injury.

“We will know more tomorrow,” added Kerr.

Game 4 is scheduled for Friday.
