Brandon Jennings has agreed to sign with the Washington Wizards for the remainder of the season.
The New York Knicks released Jennings on Monday after he requested an out in order to play for a contending team.
Jennings needs to clear waivers before he can sign with the Wizards.
The team has 15 players on the roster and will need to waive a player to make room for Jennings.
Jennings averaged 8.6 points and 4.9 assists while shooting 34 percent from 3-point range.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have signed Norris Cole for the remainder of the season.
Oklahoma City traded away Cameron Payne last week and needed a backup point guard.
Cole went unsigned as a free agent in the offseason after averaging 10.6 points and 3.7 assists for the New Orleans Pelicans in 15-16. Cole signed with the Chinese Basketball Association in October, but departed in December after suffering an injury. Cole received clearance from the CBA in recent days to sign with the Thunder.
The Utah Jazz were unable to agree upon a contract extension with George Hill.
The Jazz could have given Hill the remainder of their cap space this season and an extension of up to three years with annual raises of 7.5 percent.
The best offer Utah could make to Hill is for $88.3 million to be committed to the Jazz through the 2019-20 season, which computes to a three-year, $74.7 million extension plus $13.6 million this season.
The Jazz remain interested in re-signing Hill in the offseason. Hill was advised he can get a much better deal on the open market than he could at this time with an extension.
The Utah Jazz and George Hill are engaged in talks on a contract extension before Tuesday's deadline.
Hill has recently declined to discuss a potential contract extension but told ESPN in November that he was "very interested" in the idea. Sources said the Jazz are determined to keep Hill for the long term even if extension terms can't be reached Tuesday and Hill decides he would rather test the open market starting July 1.

Chris Bosh made his debut on TNT on Monday as an analyst for their "Players Only" programming.
Bosh isn't ready to give up on his playing career, however, and still is working out.
"My health is great," Bosh said during Monday night's broadcast. "I'm feeling good, still working out and just really still staying ready."
Bosh didn't discuss whether he's still battling the blood clots that derailed his 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons.
Bosh's last NBA game was Feb. 9, 2016. A blood clot was found in his calf two days later, he went back on blood-thinning medication and his playing future has been uncertain ever since.
"I think one of the interesting things that I didn't anticipate was my mental health, and that's something that as athletes we have to take into regard because we're used to a set schedule and we're used to a certain type of world," Bosh said. "And that's something that I've really had to work on for my well-being."
Bosh will continue as an analyst for Turner for the next four Mondays, running through March 27.
The Heat are trying to gain cap relief from the $52 million Bosh is owed over the next two seasons.
The Washington Wizards are interested in signing Brandon Jennings.
Jennings was waived by the New York Knicks on Monday.
Stan Van Gundy suggested Jennings was going to sign with the Charlotte Hornets but the team was already committed to Briante Weber. The Golden State Warriors also had interest in Jennings but they were similarly committed to Jose Calderon.
The Wizards are currently playing Trey Burke as John Wall's backup at point guard.
The New York Knicks have interest in signing Jrue Holiday in free agency.
Phil Jackson has targeted Holiday in the past via trade.
With the New Orleans Pelicans trading for DeMarcus Cousins at the deadline, they are likely to try to keep Holiday.
The Knicks are expected to have at least $24 million in cap space in the 2017 offseason.
The Los Angeles Lakers will sign David Nwaba of the L.A. D-Fenders to a 10-day contract.
Nwaba went undrafted in 2016 out of Cal Poly.
The Los Angeles Lakers have waived Jose Calderon.
Calderon is expected to sign with the Golden State Warriors once he clears waivers.
According to Chris Hayes of ESPN, there was internal support for the Warriors to sign Brandon Jennings but they were too far along with Calderon to change courses. Jennings was waived by the New York Knicks on Monday.
