Agent: Stoudamire Will Commit To Spurs

Agent Aaron Goodwin told ESPN.com that Damon Stoudamire, who will clear waivers and become a free agent Thursday at 10 p.m. ET after his buyout from the Grizzlies, has committed to join the Spurs after also considering the Suns and the Raptors, with whom Stoudamire won Rookie of the Year honors in the 1995-96 season.

Ford May Return To Practice Soon

The Toronto Raptors may get a boost soon with T.J. Ford close to returning to practice, the Associated Press is reporting.  However, there is no timetable for his return to the court.

Ford has missed 22 games, not playing since Atlanta rookie Al Horford knocked him to the ground in a Dec. 11 game at Atlanta.

Report: Celtics No Longer In Stoudamire Hunt

Sources tell Chris Sheridan of ESPN.com that the Boston Celtics are no longer appearing like a strong suitor for Damon Stoudamire.

Stoudamire hopes to sign with a club after he clears waivers at 6:00 PM EST on Wednesday.

The Raptors, Spurs and Suns are the interested teams, according to sources who spoke with Sheridan.

Hip Flexor Injury Sidelines Wiz's Butler Vs. Raptors

Caron Butler missed Washington's 108-104 overtime victory at home against the Raptors on Tuesday with what the team is calling a hip flexor injury and then did not travel with the team to Toronto, the Associated Press is reporting.

Butler, who again is having an All-Star type season, was hurt when he fell to the floor during an overtime loss against the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday.

Stoudamire Gets Buyout; Celtics Not Only Suitor

Damon Stoudamire's buyout with the Memphis Grizzlies is finally complete, and a new team has entered the equation.

It was long believed that Boston was the favorite to add 'Mighty Mouse', with Phoenix and Toronto also in the running, but now ESPN is reporting that San Antonio is also showing interest in the 12 year vet.

Buyout talks dragged through the day Monday before being finalized early in the evening, and Stoudamire now cannot officially be waived until 10 a.m. EST Tuesday.

"I'm keeping it all suspenseful," Stoudamire said Monday evening when reached on his cell phone. "I'm trying to get it all figured out, trying to see what's best for myself and my family."

Stoudamire Would Consider Rejoining Raptors

Marc Stein of ESPN.com is reporting that Damon Stoudamire is trying get out of Memphis through a buy-out in an attempt to sign elsewhere.

The Celtics and Suns both covet the veteran point guard, but Stoudamire might entertain the idea of returning to the Toronto Raptors.

The Raptors drafted him, and he won the Rookie of the Year award for the 1995-96 season in Toronto.

Calderon's 3-Point Play Gets Raptors Past Celtics

A three point play with 10.5 seconds remaining by Jose Calderon capped off a brilliant shooting display by the Raptors, helping Toronto to a 114-112 win against Boston on Wednesday night.

"Fifty-eight percent [from the floor]; 71 percent from the 3; 100 percent from the foul line. At least the foul line wasn't guarded," Celtics' Coach Doc Rivers said after the Raptors made 15 of 21 3-pointers.

Calderon finished with 24 points and 13 assists. Chris Bosh and Anthony Parker scored 23 points apiece, and Andrea Bargnani had 20 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists.
