May 2001 Miami Heat Wiretap
Movin' on up? Unlikely
Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald writes: Heat general manager Randy Pfund reiterated Tuesday it's unlikely Miami will acquire a first-round selection.
Houston Rockets executive vice president Carroll Dawson, whose team has three first-round picks, said Miami has
inquired about the last of those choices (23), but he doesn't expect to deal it.
Having traded its 20th pick to Cleveland to complete the Brian Grant trade, Miami enters with just one choice -- 49th overall.
The Miami makes any big moves, they will likely be during free agency.
