Granger Agrees With Front Office Stance On Stephenson

Sep 10, 2010 8:52 AM

Pacers forward Danny Granger chatted with Jorge Sierra of HoopsHype.com this week and discussed a variety of topics.

For one, Granger agrees with the team's stance on rookie guard Lance Stephenson, who has been banned from the team's facilities in the wake of a domestic abuse incident.

"You have to put your foot down at one point," Granger said. "We've had a lot of incidents happen in Indianapolis that caused bad publicity for the team and the community. You have to put your foot down and take a stand about things."

Granger also said that he thinks he and new point guard Darren Collison could be a tandem for years to come.

"He's young and I'm young. I think we can be a lot of years in Indiana together."

Pacers Looking At Possible Trades

Sep 8, 2010 7:42 AM

Pacers president Larry Bird said Tuesday that the team is still looking for ways to improve as training camp approaches.

"I can't tell you if something is going to happen or not but we're still looking," Bird told Mike Wells of the Indianapolis Star.

Bird also provided updates on the conditions of Tyler Hansbrough, Jeff Foster and A.J. Price.

Hansbrough hasn't been cleared to go all out.

"When they release him to go, he'll go," Bird said. "I don't know when that's going to happen. I know he's got another meeting with his doctors coming up.

"He's in top condition. I don't worry about Tyler as far as being in shape."

Foster has been limited, by design, following offseason back surgery.

"There's no use in going all out right now," Bird said. "He'll be in shape. I know how hard it is to sit out a whole year and come back. It takes time.

"Jeff is a specialty-type player. Whatever we can get out of him, he'll help us."

Price is back on the court following serious knee surgery.

"It's going to be a challenge for him to be 100 percent for training camp," Bird said. "He's looked pretty good, but he's not 100 percent. It's still good that he's able to go against some competition."

Report: Knicks Turned Down Deal For Fernandez

Sep 3, 2010 4:00 PM

Knicks president Donnie Walsh recently rejected a three-team deal that would have sent Anthony Randolph to Indiana, a first-round pick to Portland and Rudy Fernandez to New York, according to a team source.

The Knicks have been linked to Fernandez, who wants out of Portland and has listed New York as one of his preferred destinations.

The Trail Blazers want a first-round pick for Fernandez, which means the Knicks need to get a third team involved.
