The Cleveland Cavaliers are not prepared to consider a trade of Donovan Mitchell, sources tell Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.

There is widespread speculation amongst league personnel and in the media that Mitchell will leave the Cavaliers when he can become an unrestricted free agent in 2025. Mitchell has long been linked with the New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Miami Heat. Mitchell is originally from the New York area.

The Cavaliers are in a pivotal season, but currently are weathering extended injury absences to Darius Garland and Evan Mobley.

The Cavaliers acquired Mitchell from the Utah Jazz in 2022 for a number of future first round picks as well as Lauri Markkanen and Collin Sexton.
