The New Orleans Pelicans held some quiet exploratory trade talks during the 2022 offseason before they agreed to a five-year, $194.3 million contract extension. 

Williamson reportedly doesn't currently maintain a relationship with the Pelicans' front office as they evaluate a possible trade this offseason.

Williamson played in only 29 games this season as he never returned from what initially appeared to be a common hamstring injury.

Williamson's five-year contract begins this coming season.
