The Houston Rockets are pursuing a trade of James Harden with the Philadelphia 76ers that would be headlined by Ben Simmons and Tyrese Maxey, sources tell Marc Stein of the New York Times

The Rockets are believed to be nearing a trade of Harden and he very well may have already played his final game with the franchise. The Rockets could complete a trade of Harden as soon a today. 

The 76ers would also like to acquire P.J. Tucker as part of the package. The 76ers are also attempting to acquire additional draft compensation to leave Maxey out of the trade.

Houston is also considering an offer from the Brooklyn Nets, but the 76ers are considered the favorites to eventually trade for Harden.

Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports that the 76ers have previously offered Ben Simmons in a package for Harden but that the two sides couldn't reach agreement on the remainder of a trade package. Talks have continued before and since Harden's comments on Tuesday.
