According to multiple sources, there have two misconceptions about the Cleveland Cavaliers' trade discussions involving Kyrie Irving last June.

LeBron James' camp was not involved in initiating trade talks of Irving as they pursued a deal for Paul George.

The Cavaliers also kept Irving's agent, Jeff Wechsler, fully informed of the talks. All parties also had an understanding that the Cavaliers wouldn't trade Irving if he wanted to stay.

Irving ultimately requested a trade in July and was dealt to the Boston Celtics in August.
