Top Recruit Kevin Ware Signs With Louisville

May 31, 2011 5:54 PM

Kevin Ware, a former signee with Tennessee and commitment to Central Florida, picked U of L over Georgia and committed after making a visit this weekend.

“He always had an interest in Louisville but I think he just needed to take his visit so he could actually make a decision for himself,” Mack told The Courier-Journal on Monday night. “He got to Louisville, met the coaches and the players and had a real comfort level with them and he already knew Rick Pitino was a great coach. He just felt like Louisville was the best fit for him.”

The 6-foot-4 Ware, who played in the Kentucky Derby Festival Classic last month, is ranked as the No 70 prospect in the Class of 2011 by Rivals.com and checks in at No. 99 in the Scout.com rankings.

Gonzaga To Lose Starting Point Guard Goodson To Football Transfer

May 4, 2011 11:38 AM

Demetri Goodson, starting point guard for Gonzaga, has decided to transfer in order to play football, the school announced Tuesday.

The 6-foot, 175-pound junior would have two years of football eligibility remaining, which does not offer football. Goodson is the brother of Carolina Panthers running back Mike Goodson, who played at Texas A&M.

"I have decided to pursue football next year," Goodson said in a statement. "I would like to thank my coaches and staff for the opportunity to play here. I also want to thank the city of Spokane and all of the Zags fans who have supported me over the years. It's been an awesome experience."
