Top Available Transfer Matt Haarms Commits To BYU

Former Purdue center Matt Haarms announced his commitment to BYU.

Haarms is ranked as the nation's top available transfer, according to ESPN.

"I came down to those three schools, and at that point I was just looking at everything. I could weigh the pros and cons for hours on end, but I needed to make a decision on where I felt I could be the most successful and where I could be 100 percent mentally committed and where I truly trusted them," said Haarms, who chose BYU over Kentucky and Texas Tech.

The 7-foot-3 center averaged 8.6 points and 4.6 rebounds for the Boilermakers last season.

His decision to transfer reportedly caught the team by surprise.

Landers Nolley Commits To Memphis

Former Virginia Tech forward Landers Nolley committed to Memphis.

Nolley was ranked as the top sit-out transfer this spring, according to ESPN.

Nolley averaged 15.5 points and 5.8 rebounds last season.

He has two years of eligibility remaining. The NCAA is expected to meet next month to discuss a one-time transfer waiver for all college players. 

Nolley would be eligible immediately if the rule passes.

NCAA Expected To Vote On One-Time Transfer Waiver For 2020-21 Season

The NCAA committee is expected to vote on a one-time transfer waiver that would grant all first-time transfers immediate eligibility for the 2020-21 season.

There are currently 746 Division I men's basketball players in the transfer portal, including 181 graduate transfer. 

The issue is set to be discussed this month, with a vote in May.

There could an influx of first-time transfers should the waiver pass in May.

Kentucky transfer Johnny Juzang announced his commitment to UCLA.

Juzang chose the Bruins over ArizonaNotre DameOregonTexas Tech and Villanova.

Juzang was ranked as the No. 30 prospect for the 2019 class. He averaged 2.9 points and 1.9 rebounds in 28 games as a freshman.

Graduate Transfer Terrell Brown Commits To Arizona

Seattle graduate transfer Terrell Brown announced his commitment to Arizona.

Brown picked Arizona over several schools including San Diego State, Texas Tech, Arkansas, Washington and Washington State.

Brown, who is expected to replace Nico Mannion at point guard, averaged 20.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game last season.

"The coaching staff was honest with me the first time we talked on the phone. The relationship we built kept getting stronger and stronger, and I think we can continue to build it," said Brown.

Graduate Transfer Dimencio Vaughn Commits To Ole Miss

Rider graduate transfer Dimencio Vaughn announced his commitment to Ole Miss.

Vaughn was considered one of the top grad transfers on the market.

Vaughn, who averaged 14.8 points and 6.6 rebounds, was unanimously voted first-team All-MAAC last season. He will be eligible for next season upon graduating this spring.
