The Detroit Pistons have waived Zhaire Smith.

The Philadelphia 76ers traded Smith to the Pistons this offseason for Tony Bradley.

Smith was the 16th overall pick by the 76ers in 2018, but he has played sparingly following a foot fracture and a severe allergic reaction to sesame. 

The Charlotte Hornets are waiving Nic Batum, sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The Hornets were set to use the stretch provision to sign Gordon Hayward, though they had been working with the Celtics on a sign-and-trade deal involving Hayward.

Batum was scheduled to earn $27.1 million for the 2020-21 season. 

Batum is expected to draw interest from several teams. 

The Los Angeles Lakers have requested waivers on center Jordan Bell.

Bell played in 29 games for the Timberwolves and Grizzlies last season, notching 3.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 8.8 minutes. He has played in 154 career games (16 starts) for Golden State, Minnesota and Memphis, averaging 3.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 12.0 minutes per game.

The Houston Rockets claimed Kenny Wooten off waivers, sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Wooten was most recently waived by the Knicks. 

The Charlotte Hornets will use the waive and stretch provision on Nic Batum to create the necessary cap space to sign Gordon Hayward to his four-year, $120 million deal.

Batum's $27 million salary for the 20-21 season will be stretched over three seasons. Batum appeared in just 22 games last season with the Hornets.

The Hornets entered the offseason with approximately $20 million in cap space. Charlotte signed Batum to a five-year, $120 million deal in 2016.

The Detroit Pistons will waive and stretch Dewayne Dedmon in order to create cap space to sign their targeted free agents.

Dedmon will become a free agent once he clears waivers.

The Pistons have reached agreements on the opening night of free agency with Jerami Grant, Mason Plumlee and Jahill Okafor.

This is the first offseason since the Pistons hired Troy Weaver.

The Golden State Warriors have waived Ky Bowman.

Bowman played in 45 games with the Warriors during the 19-20 season, averaging 7.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 22.9 minutes per game.

The Milwaukee Bucks will waive Ersan Ilyasova.

Ilyasova was supposed to be in the Bogdan Bogdanovic sign-and-trade with the Sacramento Kings.

The Los Angeles Lakers are waiving Quinn Cook. 

Cook was on a non-guaranteed contract for the 20-21 season. Cook will receive $1 million out of his $3 million deal in 20-21.

Cook was not part of the Lakers' rotation last season.

The New York Knicks have declined their team option on Bobby Portis worth $15.7 million.

New York has also waived Taj Gibson and Elfrid Payton.

The moves will free up cap space for the Knicks.
