Cheatham is ranked No. 73 by Rivals.com and is an athletic point forward.
Cheatham is the Aztecs' third Top 100 recruit for 2014.

Young is a transfer at guard from Houston.
Young averaged 18 points per game last season for the Cougars. Young's father, Michael Young, was reassigned by Houston from his position as director of basketball operations.
Khadeem Lattin has committed to Oklahoma for the class of 2014.
Lattin is a power forward/center currently playing for Redemption Christian Homeschool Academy in Houston.
Lattin had offers from Arizona, Georgetown, Texas, Memphis and TCU among others.
Rivals.com has Lattin ranked as a three-star prospect, No. 124 overall.
Joshua Smith has been ruled eligible immediately to play for Georgetown.
Smith was granted a "Seasons of Competition" waiver for the 12-13 season in which he appeared in six games for UCLA.
Smith will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
"We are excited that the NCAA has approved the waiver for Joshua," Georgetown coach John Thompson III said in a statement. "Now, he has to maintain a high level of commitment on and off the court. He will provide a significant low-post presence for this team."
Smith is listed at 6-10, 350 pounds on the Hoyas' website, but he said he is down to 310.
