Nets Confirm Talks With Kirilenko

Jul 22, 2012 11:23 AM

Billy King said the Nets have been talking with Andrei Kirilenko, who played last season for CSKA Moscow.

“He still can play,” King said of Kirilenko during a recent radio interview. “He would be a great piece to add to us, and give us more depth at the forward spot.”

The Nets only can offer Kirilenko the veteran’s minimum, while Kirilenko’s three-year pact with CSKA pays him $4 million per year.

Kirilenko’s existing deal includes an opt-out clause at the end of each season.

Mirotic Wants To Be Completely Ready Before Move To Bulls

Jul 8, 2012 11:38 AM

Nikola Mirotic continues to improve with Real Madrid even as eventually joining the Bulls looms over his career.

"I really like the Bulls," said Mirotic. "They have a great history and tradition and legends. They're young and talented and have a big future."

"Nikola can shoot from anywhere he wants,'' Real Madrid assistant coach Hugo Lopez Munoz said in a phone interview. "We know that he's there, and if he's open, he's going to make the bucket. Absolutely that is his strength, though he does more things.''

"I can't tell you right now when, but for sure I want to be totally ready when I take that step,'' Mirotic said. "Currently I have a contract with Real Madrid and personal and team goals that I'd like to achieve. I want to improve as a player, and to get this goal (of playing for the Bulls), it's not advisable to go fast.''
