Allen Iverson wrote on Twitter that he has declined an invitation to join the D-League's Texas Legends.

The Legends have been pursuing Iverson throughout the season.

"I thank Donnie (Nelson) and Dallas for the consideration and while I think the D-League is a great opportunity, it is not the route for me," wrote Iverson.

"I realize my actions contributed to my early departure from the NBA, should God provide me another opportunity I will give it my all," Iverson continued.

Iverson's post was his first in 57 days.

The Dallas Mavericks have reassigned rookie guard Jared Cunningham to the Texas Legends, the Mavericks’ NBA Development League affiliate. 

Cunningham returns to the Legends following an assignment earlier in the season when he played in seven games, and averaged 18.1 points, 3.0 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 37.0 minutes. 

In eight games for the Mavericks this season, Cunningham is averaging 2.0 points in 3.3 minutes per game. Originally selected in the first round (24th overall) of the 2012 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cunningham’s rights were traded on Draft Night to the Mavericks.

The Texas Legends of the D-League are attempting to convince Allen Iverson to sign with them, according to sources.

Iverson has been pursued by the Legends throughout the season.

Iverson last played in the in the NBA during the 09-10 season and wants to return.

Iverson last played professionally in Turkey for Besiktas in 10-11.

The Texas Legends of the NBA D-League have acquired guard Delonte West.

West filed paperwork to enter the D-League in an effort to make an NBA comeback.

West was let go by the Dallas Mavericks in November.

The Legends are the Mavericks' D-League affiliate.

Delonte West has filed paperwork to enter the NBA D-League's player pool.

As the first team in the waiver wire, the Texas Legends could claim West, who is also garnering interest from the Memphis Grizzlies. The Grizzles, however, are most likely to pass on West.

The Dallas Mavericks parted ways with West in November.

The Legends are the Mavericks' D-League affiliate.

Rashad McCants is close to signing with the Texas Legends.

The Legends are the D-League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks.

McCants most recently played in China.

The Austin Toros have acquired Chris Roberts in exchange for guards Justin Dentmon and Luther Head from the Texas Legends. 

“While trading Justin Dentmon was a difficult decision we are thrilled to welcome Chris Roberts to the Toros,” said Sean Marks, Toros General Manager. “Chris is a talented young player with a big upside and a bright future ahead of him”

Roberts (6-4, 205, Bradley) played two years at Navarro College and finished his collegiate career at Bradley where he averaged 9.2 points and 4.6 rebounds his senior year.  

Luke Harangody (Fort Wayne Mad Ants), Jerome Jordan (Reno Bighorns), Jeremy Lamb (Tulsa 66ers on assignment from the Oklahoma City Thunder), Shelvin Mack (Maine Red Claws) and DaJuan Summers (Maine Red Claws) were selected to the First Team All-NBA D-League Showcase First Team.

Bakerfield’s Damion James, now of the Brooklyn Nets, Austin’s Cory Joseph, on assignment from the San Antonio Spurs, Reno’s Marcus Landry, Sioux Falls’ Dexter Pittman, on assignment from the Miami Heat, and Texas’ Chris Roberts comprise the Second Team.

The Los Angeles’ Courtney Fortson, Fort Wayne’s Ron Howard, Erie’s D.J. Kennedy, Rio Grande Valley’s Terrence Jones, on assignment from the Houston Rockets, and Tulsa’s Daniel Orton, on assignment from the Oklahoma City Thunder, round out the third team.

The Dallas Mavericks have signed Mike James of the Texas Legends to a 10-day contract.

James played in two games for the Legends, including one at the 2013 NBA D-League Showcase in Reno, Nev., averaging 18.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 34.0 minutes before signing with Dallas. 

An 10-year NBA veteran, James owns NBA careers averages of 10.4 points, 3.6 assists and 24.9 minutes. 

After playing Monday’s game with the NBA D-League’s Texas Legends, veteran guard Mike James will sign a 10-day contract with the Dallas Mavericks, league sources confirmed to RealGM.

James will make his Mavericks debut on Wednesday night against the Clippers in Los Angeles.

James dropped 26 points on 10-for-20 shooting and four assists in 30 minutes in his first game with the Legends on Saturday, swiftly impressing the Mavericks’ front office. The Mavericks then waived Chris Douglas-Roberts on Sunday to create roster space for a 10-day deal.

James had a similar path back to the NBA last season when he played for the D-League’s Erie BayHawks before landing with the Chicago Bulls. At 37 years old, he has averages of 10.4 points and 3.6 assists over 10 NBA seasons.
