So...Who did Denver really beat last year?

Post#1 » by mademan » Tue May 7, 2024 4:21 am

Injured play in Minnesota
Play in Lakers
Play in Heat
Meh Suns (also without Paul for half the series)

Cant fault them as they dont chose their comp, but is this Wolves team the first actual contender level team theyve played?

They might have lost to the Wolves if Naz Reid and Jaden McDaniels were healthy.

If you have to play at the level the Wolves are playing at right now to be a “real” contender, then there were no “real” contenders last season.

Even the first round they looked pretty unconvincing. Yeah you can score on DLo, Reaves, a 39 year old, and Rui. That might be a slight step down from NAW, Ant, McDaniels, KAT, and Reid

This kind of talk is silly. Every year, somebody has to win and it's still hard no matter the competition. Just because somebody isn't an all-time team doesn't mean their championship is irrelevant or even diminished.

If it was so easy last year, Boston should've just beaten Miami, right?
Brian Geltzeiler: You see Mark Jackson getting a head coaching job as early as next year?

Adrian Wojnarowski: Not if people make calls on him. Not if an organization is doing their homework and knows all the things he brings with him.

I have probably 30 posts saying this before the playoffs started and when they again got to beat old Lebron and the Lakers, and I was basically called dumb and that the Nuggets were a dynasty.

How about just a team that proved they were one of the best 5-6 teams in the league over the entire season. Doesnt need to be a team peaking in the playoffs

Like i said, they dont pick their comp. Pointing out they didnt beat anyone actually good puts this season in context (if they end up losing to the Wolves). They will have lost to the first good healthy team theyve played

Minny, among others.

Minny who had 4/5 same starters they have now.

And they beat them 4-1.
** Luka made The Finals without Brunson
** Embiid is the only MVP in NBA history to never make a conference final
** Philly won multiple playoff games without MVP Embiid
** LeBron missed the playoffs with Davis
** Steph missed the playoffs with Klay

Denver has yet to beat a 50 win team in a playoff series in the Jokic era.

We can just say the COVID era of basketball(2020-2023) was a weak era
Aaron Gordon, Devin Booker, Tyrese Halliburton, Trae Young, Anthony Edwards and Luka Doncic all made the Conference Finals.

Where’s Joel Embiid?

Who did the 85 Bears even beat in the playoffs? The Pats finished 3rd in their own division!

You realize you're just discrediting the Wolves right? It's chanting 'overrated' when the home team is losing...
