The Mad Ants have traded JaJuan Johnson and their 2013 first round pick to Canton in exchange for Harangody and the Charge's third round pick in the 2013 D-League draft.
"We are all very excited about bringing Luke on board with the team," said Mad Ants president Jeff Potter. "We feel his combination of rebounding and scoring will help get this team on the right track. It is difficult to have to part with JaJuan, but we feel that Luke addresses some of our needs and could not pass on this opportunity to acquire him."
Harangody, a three time First Team All Big East player at Notre Dame, was selected in the second round of the 2010 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics.

The Fort Wayne Mad Ants traded point guard Walker Russell, Jr. to the Reno Bighorns for Anthony Richardson and Jack McClinton.
"I would like to thank Walker for all his contributions to the Mad Ants since our inception," said Mad Ants President Jeff Potter. "It is never easy to trade someone like Walker, but I think the organization needs to go in another direction and trading Walker was a step I felt needed to be taken to make that happen."
The Sioux Falls Skyforce have acquired center Hassan Whiteside. To make room for him on the roster the team waived forward Dan Coleman. The active roster now stands at 10 players.
Whiteside averaged 1.5 points and 2.1 rebounds in 19 games with the Sacramento Kings from 2010-12. He was selected in the second round (33rd overall) of the 2010 NBA Draft after playing just one season at Marshall University.
The Los Angeles D-Fenders have reacquired Elijah Millsap.
Millsap, a 2010 All-Conference USA First Team selection following his junior season at Alabama-Birmingham, returns to the D-Fenders after averaging 19.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.9 steals over 41 regular season games in 2011-12.
Acquired by the D-Fenders in a trade with Tulsa, Millsap helped lead the D-Fenders to the first NBA D-League Finals berth in franchise history and earned a 2012 NBA Development League All-Star Game selection along with 2012 NBA D-League All-Second Team honors.
The Maine Red Claws have traded the rights to Morris Almond to the Iowa Energy in exchange for Iowa’s 2013 2nd round draft selection. Almond spent the 2011-12 and 2009-10 seasons with the Red Claws.
“Mo was a very good player for us over the last two seasons, and we thank him for his time and effort,” said Boston Celtics Director of Player Personnel Austin Ainge. “We have a number of wing players on the team right now that are very close to making the NBA, and we take our commitment to their playing time and development very seriously. We wanted help Mo find a situation where he can continue to do the same. We wish him continued success and again thank him for his contribution to the Red Claws.”
The Canton Charge have acquired guard Dominique Johnson from the available player pool. Johnson’s acquisition does not count towards Canton’s waiver preference position following Kevin Jones’ call-up to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Nov. 29. Johnson was in training camp with the Santa Cruz Warriors this season and has two years of experience in the NBA Development League. |
The Maine Red Claws, have acquired Dajuan Summers from the Available Player Pool.
Summers most recently played for the New Orleans Hornets and attended training camp this season with the Charlotte Bobcats.
Summers, 24, began the 2011-12 season with Montepaschi Siena (Italy-SerieA), appearing in 3 games (4.0 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 1.0 bpg) before signing with the New Orleans Hornets in October 2011.
