There have been more rumblings that the possibility of Greg Oden not declaring for this year's draft is a legitimate one.
When Oden does decides to go pro, expect him to be represented by his AAU coach and former Olympic champion Mike Conley.
Conley also is rumored to likely represent Duke sophomore forward Josh McRoberts if he leaves school early.
North Carolina stepped away from the ACC for a day and stepped all over Arizona.
Playing without Brandan Wright, their second-leading scorer and rebounder, the No. 4 Tar Heels routed the 17th-ranked Wildcats 92-64 Saturday, handing Lute Olson his worst home loss in 24 seasons as Arizona's coach.
Stanford big man Brook Lopez had a triple-double against USC on Thursday evening, thought it wasn't a conventional one; 18 points, 11 rebounds and 12 blocks.
Lopez came into the game with only 13 blocks for the season.
"Brook is getting healthy and he's getting into condition," Stanford coach Trent Johnson said. "He was exceptional at the defensive end, but the main thing for him is being consistent."
Marcus Williams, No. 17 Arizona's leading scorer, was benched for the Wildcats' game Wednesday night against Arizona State for a violation of team rules.
Williams, who sat on the bench for the Wildcats' 71-47 victory, did not speak to reporters. Coach Lute Olson would not elaborate on Williams' violation, but said he would play Saturday against No. 4 North Carolina.
Kevin Durant, the heralded freshman out of Texas, is reportedly growing tired of the constant questions regarding whether or not he will declare for the 2007 NBA Draft.
"That's a question that can't be answered until the season is over with," head coach Rick Barnes said. "We don't want to be disrespectful to [reporters], but sooner or later we're going to have to shut it down a little bit because he doesn't want to deal with it, and I don't blame him."
Greg Oden scoring 29 points, hitting 12 of 13 shots from the field to lead No. 7 Ohio State to an 82-63 victory over Iowa on Saturday night.
"He's a super talent," Iowa coach Steve Alford said of the 7-foot freshman. "What makes him very, very special is he can get 29 (points) and 10 (rebounds) and win, or he can get 6 and 10 and win -- and he's going to feel the same. It's never been about points. It's never been about any kind of selfish ambition with Greg. It's always been about winning."
Nick Young had 30 points and eight rebounds and Southern California beat No. 11 Arizona 80-73 on Thursday night, handing the Wildcats their second consecutive loss and third in four games.
Arizona lost to Washington State last week to snap a 12-game winning streak, and lost to then-No. 15 Oregon on Sunday.
Mario Boggan set career highs with 37 points and 20 rebounds and hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 3.2 seconds left in the third overtime to lift the Oklahoma State to a 105-103 victory over Texas on Tuesday night.
"When it left my hand, I knew it was going to go in. It felt like it was going in," said Boggan. "Not to be just saying that, it actually felt good coming off my hand."
Kevin Durant, who had 37 points, tying his career high, and 12 rebounds himself, put Texas on top with a three-point play with 10.5 seconds left, but there was still time for Boggan.
"Mario's performance was, I thought, the best I've ever seen," Oklahoma State coach Sean Sutton said.
Florida is back at No. 1 in The Associated Press' college basketball poll for the second time this season. Virginia Tech is in the Top 25 for the first time in more than a decade.
The Gators regained the top basketball ranking a week after Florida's football team won the national championship with a rout of Ohio State.
