NBA PER: Paul George Drops Dramatically; Kawhi Moves Up To 4th

Stephen Curry continues to lead the NBA in PER even though he continues to regress toward his newfound mean ahead of Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant and now Kawhi Leonard in fourth with LeBron James rounding out the top-5.

Paul George, meanwhile, has dropped from 12th to 24th in PER in just one week. George had a 23.7 PER seven days ago and 21.5 this week. George has a PER of just 9.7 in his past five games and 16.4 in December.

NBA Efficiency Differential Rankings: Celtics Move Back Into Top-5

The Boston Celtics moved up into the top-5 in Efficiency Differential this week, improving by one full point.

The San Antonio Spurs (14.0 to 14.0) and Golden State Warriors (13.3 to 13.2) remain virtually unchanged from last week. The Cleveland Cavaliers dropped from 6.6 points per 100 possessions to 4.9.

At the bottom, the Philadelphia 76ers had an increase from -13.6 to -13.0 with their win over the Phoenix Suns.

Karl-Anthony Towns elevated his PER from 21.7 (23rd overall) to 22.5 (16th overall) over the past week.

The San Antonio Spurs overtook the Golden State Warriors for the top slot in Efficiency Differential last week. The Spurs are scoring 14.0 points per 100 possessions more than their opponents compared to 13.3 for the Warriors.

The Spurs are 23-5 compared to the Warriors' 26-1 record.
