Tony Snell was unable to find a team to sign with for the rest of this season, sources told Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports.

The deadline was February 2 at 11:59 p.m. ET for Snell to sign for a team for the remainder of the season. That would have allowed Snell to get 10 years of service for the player's association's retiree benefits and receive healthcare for his whole family, including his two sons diagnosed with autism.

Multiple teams would have signed Snell to a 10-day contract if that would have satisfied the requirements.

However, as written in the collective bargaining agreement, players must either have been signed by February 2 or have played 50% of games in a season.
