Giannis Antetokounmpo wanted the Milwaukee Bucks to go in a different direction than hiring Nick Nurse as head coach last summer, sources told Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

It was reported that Antetokounmpo favored hiring Adrian Griffin, though Stein adds that his support was more about not wanting to be coached by Nurse.

The Bucks fired Griffin on Tuesday, promoting Joe Prunty as the interim head coach.

The team are now in conversations with Doc Rivers to take over as head coach.
