The Los Angeles Lakers are not expected to sign DeMarcus Cousins if he clears waivers after his release by the Houston Rockets.

Cousins signed with the Lakers before the 19-20 season but never appeared in a game with the team after tearing his ACL in the offseaon.

The Lakers, however, have identified Hassan Whiteside as a possible target.
